I just got an offer for a PM role at eBay. I don’t have an Eng background and I’ve never had a PM title within tech, although my previous roles involved a lot of PM-type work. So effectively this would be me “breaking into” product management and finally having the title. I think this could open a lot of doors but I’m very hesitant about eBay. It’s obviously not a “hot” company right now and I’m not sure how respected it would be for getting other PM jobs in the future. Should I make the jump?

It’s odd that America is considered a rich country. The median individual income is only ~$32,000/yr. I understand that’s a lot more than most countries, but it’s a far cry from rich.

Had a meeting with the client on Friday. It was me, my M, and two people from the client. We’ve been working with them for 6 mo, have met in person, and have good casual relationship. When signing into the meeting, I entered my name as “Santa Claus”. No real reason why, thought it would be a little fun before going out for Xmas holiday. The clients got a laugh and made some jokes about it. My manger was not amused by this and gave me lecture on professionalism. Was it really that bad/ big deal?
