If this is you making the jump absolutely. eBay is a well know company. It will give you a formal pm role at a large tech company. If you like the people and the role I wouldn’t say no just because you want to work at a FAANG. Also FAANG probably wouldn’t give you a PM role anyway if you’re just breaking in.

100% take it. Ebay is a great company in terms of you looking great if you succeed there. Even if it's not the hottest right now, it's absolutely a huge success even for you to get this job. Nail it and then you'll have so many opportunities. Also, I mean, you can make it better...

That's a great job for breaking in! eBay is a level that will really benefit you and will be recognized as valuable experience, but it's a bit lower stakes than FAANG. Will position you well and you can really get in there without any mistakes being terrible for you.

Hi OP, I worked in Samsung as a PM and partnering with eBay for online channel partnering was on of the aspect. My 2 cents from the experience are 1. This will be a more retail focused company than a tech company 2. The PM role in this retail giant will be more focused on the outbound Product Management where in interaction is with Sales, Marketing, Branding people/ teams and then you would drive the inputs either to the development team directly or thru a Product Owner. Congratulations on your new opportunity, best learning forward.

I agree. OP if this is a standard PM role and you haven’t heard any 🚩 of the group from your network, absolutely take it.

Take it. Sometimes you have to fish where no one else is fishing, if you know what I mean. Good luck.

I recently started a new role and I hate it. Is it a red flag to recruiters if I only have worked at a company a few months before jumping ship? All my previous positions I have been there 3 or more years.

Salary Average: 5 Years in Learning & Capability Building NYC I have been working for the same company for about 6 years. My career started with them as an intern and I was hired after graduation. Fast forward, I am specialist and have been in the same role for 3 years. For me, I don’t feel inclined to get a title change but would expect a comparable salary increase. What should someone in my position be making in NYC? Thanks!

I’ve been helping out a manager on a SOX controls implementation project since late May/early June (just us two). The project is scheduled to run until end of August, but the EM has known from the start that I need to roll off by EOW for the audit I work on every year. However, there is currently no one to take over my role on the project. My time for next week is non-negotiable on my other project, with no flexibility to keep assisting with this. What should I do?

Had a meeting with the client on Friday. It was me, my M, and two people from the client. We’ve been working with them for 6 mo, have met in person, and have good casual relationship. When signing into the meeting, I entered my name as “Santa Claus”. No real reason why, thought it would be a little fun before going out for Xmas holiday. The clients got a laugh and made some jokes about it. My manger was not amused by this and gave me lecture on professionalism. Was it really that bad/ big deal?
