Wow as I was reading this thread, I was about to reply - chill out people, it's probably just a "catch-up" meeting after she was out on maternity - little did I know someone would actually fire a mom who just gave birth a few weeks ago! 😳😖
Meeting with HR isn't normal. It sounds like they're firing you, which is a dick move and seems like it should be grounds for a lawsuit
How were you doing before mat leave? Thanks to FMLA you can't be fired for going on maternity leave and they run the risk of being sued by firing you immediately afterwards. Probably just a catch up meeting.

If it was just partner, you would be ok. HR being involved is weird. Nobody meets with HR in my office. I think you're getting fired, but that would be a ballsy move for them. Let us know what happens!

Doesn't EY offer 16 weeks of paid leave ? Hopefully everyone taking leave takes the maximum since the firms are #heartless.
OP, I suggest you talk to a lawyer about whether it's enough grounds for a lawsuit. For example, was anyone else let go in your office? How many more people? How did they choose you?
