I just got laid off recently as a contractor and I’m actively looking for new opportunities. I would like to get into account management for a tech company or business development, strategy work. Does anybody know who is currently hiring for these types of roles and what would would be the best way to break into a new role with minimal experience?

Google and Microsoft (or other FAANG), do you have to be based at an office or do they allow fully remote work for some new employees? Trying to find a marketing role, but living several hours from the closest offices for any big tech and COL is great where I am.

Is it possible to make a million in any sales position? I see so many classes and books on how to be a millionaire by selling. Seems like BS.

Unfortunately, he didn’t have any more specific information other than what I would be doing is “generally commercial litigation.” Can anyone share insights on what this may entail? How do I get better at sales?
Need to focus on sales pitch, presenting webinars and in general having a positive sales voice instead of a technical detail oriented one.
I've done toastmasters and I'm fine normally as an extrovert. But tend to panic and not do my best when it's a high stakes work related moment to clients. Internally at work with my office teams, I'm fine.
Not awful, but definitely room for improvement with regards to my public client facing persona.

I'm a solid software engineer; I get the job done, I'm reliable, I work hard, i can accomplish almost any technical task with enough time, I'm supposed to be smart; I went to MIT.

The company has a toxic culture; which I tolerated but upon resigning their treatment has escalated.
