How do you get out of the burnout cycle? I’ve felt overwhelmed for a while and now I’m in the “can’t function at all” stage. I applied for a job at Google, but thought it would be unlikely they would even get an interview. I am not a typical FAANG candidate (older, remote, mostly experience with small companies, no internal referral, etc.) and worry I am wasting my time with these interviews. Does anyone have any advice or recommendations? Especially if you interviewed as an atypical candidate at Google and other FAANGs.

Just starting as a junior in a big law firm. Everyone seems nice and the work is interesting. My big fear going into this is boundaries crossed for big events (weddings, birthdays, etc). I already told my workload coordinator dates I will be unavailable and will tell people on those teams too. I’m fine with working nights and weekends when I don’t have plans (or little plans I could cancel) but I’m getting scared about interference with the big things. Any advice on how to set those boundaries?
