Option 1.
MBA
Option 2.
Transfer to advisory
I’ve never done an MBA so take what I say with a grain of salt. From what I hear T15 would almost ensure you break into banking with a reasonable chance to get into BB. Outside T15 your chances at BB decrease a lot but boutique IB is still very realistic.
For advisory FDD is probably the best best. AAS/valuation are also decent bets.
And about M&A tax I really don’t know. I hear that’s one of the highest paid groups in tax but I’m not sure how it’s viewed in the finance world. Hopefully someone with more insight can help you out. But rule of thumb the earlier you go advisory the better but as long as you go before manager you should be okay so if you can’t get in within the next 2 years it’s not the end of the world.
