If you feel it's too low, don't leave. Why does comment keep coming up?

OP I'm in your exact shoes. Recruiter tried to bs me by saying what a 5k? How you won't even see much difference from paycheck to paycheck. However, if 5k is little for me then why can't a hedge fund afford it if they really want to bring me in?

like

Yeah the recruiters have told me that while it's not fair... don't expect a raise on top of a raise. My response is always that I know what the market is paying my peers and if you were in my shoes, i don't think you would leave for less. But I'm still trying to learn this stressful game. Lol

like

Yea screw that don't take it. I'd wait till you'd get your pay raise and interview some more.

like

Yeah I just hate interviewing and want this process to end. Lol. But definitely can't undervalue myself. If they make me an offer.... I think the lowest I would accept would be 80k. I think that's fair especially if there is usually a bonus of 10-15%.

like

Also, OP and EY1 might be interviewed by the same company! They already have a backup candidate if the first one doesn't take the job.

Same boat. What type of firm?

It's a fund accounting role with a real estate group. Would you still leave if you got the offer if you like the position?

What aren't you supposed to get. 50% bump when you leave PA (based on all the posts on here). Shaffed

OP what state do you live and how much are you making now? I'm in the same boat right now except I'm up for senior promotion this summer.

I'm in a high cost of living city and my currently salary is 68k. But if I stay with my firm for a few months I'll already be around 75K.

You're more valuable with another year under your belt. Stick it out. Don't fall for the recruiter's games

^something wrong about EY1's argument: you are so special that they "really" want to bring you in. At your level, there are probably 100 similar candidates out there. There is a fixed price for this position at this market. They can always find someone happy with the number and jump onto it.

I recently interviewed for a client-side marketing manager role with a global company. I’ve been engaged with the company for over a year and built a network of internal advocates. One of my internal contacts was the hiring manager who promised to do whatever she could to help me get hired. The position was on her team and she told me to apply. After five interviews I was not selected although I met all of requirements and more. I’ve yet to from her as to why. Would you fight this?

Hey y’all need help evaluating and gathering ideas for a counter offer. For context I’m a manager 8 YOE at mid tier not big 4, but top 10) firm doing digital transformation consulting. Got an offer from a start up (series D, unicorn) Role: enterprise architecture Base: $155k Equity: $50k over 4 years (1 year Cliff at 25%) 401k: no match This brings TC to $167.5k per year which feels low to me as I was expecting much closer to $200k for TC. I’m ok with the base but equity seems low. Thoughts?
