Anyone here work in internal audit outside of accounting? I’m being presented with a potentially fully remote job as an audit specialist for a large insurance company. It would be a promotion but I am just not sure what career paths there are. There are only 2 people that audit for the entire country and those 2 people have been in their jobs for 10+ years. I am not sure if that’s by choice or if they got stuck. Very unclear. I love the idea of teleworking but will I be forgotten about too?

I can’t believe we live for two days of the week. I can’t believe we have to feel the dread of Monday morning every week like we are stuck on this constant loop. Is this what life looks like? A constant loop of looking forward to two days of the week for eternity? I have a hard time believing I should feel like this. I play tennis throughout the week but I feel like weekday evenings are just a tiny escape from the daily pressure and stress.

I started searching for work at anther firm. I accepted an offer for the things I am looking for. I am freaking out over the change even though I know moving on is the best thing for me and my family. I feel so anxious. I'm sad for leaving coworkers now friends. I'm sad that the firm I am leaving let me down.

What are daily actions I can take to combat this? How can I assess when to take criticism seriously, how to regard it dispassionately, and how to push back and stand up for myself?
