I just joined a new firm and we are all working remotely. Any good tips on how I can get myself known and get some work?

Have a casual "get to know" call with your assistant first - she would be a fountain of insider knowledge.

Be direct and ask. Start by asking another associate or two that have been there a little longer and are doing well what they would recommend. Above all else, do good work and more will come. Congrats on the new job.

I just went through this. Made it a point to reach out to everyone individually via email to serve as a “hello” but also a reminder that I am present and willing to work. Schedule some calls with people to catch up and serve the same purpose. It took a few weeks to get ramped up and being remote did make it more difficult but after a few weeks I had a full healthy workload.

Following. I start at a new firm in a couple weeks.

Agree with the other comments, I would ask everyone for a few minutes of their time and have a quick phone call/ask about them, and tell them very little about yourself other than you’re excited to work there and available/looking for work.

A bit perplexed on how to feel after event that took place last night. We’re out to dinner for my boyfriend‘s dad‘s birthday and just after we order dinner, his parents hand each of the siblings an envelope. After a few minutes it became clear each envelope had 30k, plus several hundred in random gift cards. I grew up pretty well off but this is not something my parents would ever do. Am I weird to be thrown off by this or is getting help from parents as an adult not as uncommon as I thought?

I'm 31, with a toddler. Hubby and I are exhausted with one. He even wonders why we had a kid. (Hint: it was his idea.) I work a lot. He takes on the brunt of the parenting. Everyone tells us that having two is better so they can play with each other. Others say that the second kid was rough on the marriage. Thoughts?

I am a junior and I have ptsd starting my sophomore year of college. My grades have dropped and now that I’m seeing professional help, I feel back on my feet, but now I feel very un confident about my 3.2 GPA and lack of clubs/resume for those 2 years. I’ve been having low confidence in applying to internships because of this issue. I am very unsure on how to explain this to recruiters because of sensitive subjects, so how do I got about it? I really do wish to be a financial analyst someday.

Nearly for 5 years in Non-IT: I have performed well 2 months in IT: Struggling to swim in this IT service Ocean, especially feeling it difficult due to personal pressures. I feel dumb, passively procrastinating due to the lack of clarity over tasks. Manager/colleagues pose as cooperative yet demanding at the same time. I've been complaining a lot, had a word with RM at TechM, and my managers at client side. Hinted that I'm struggling to cope up. I feel very sceptical about my future.Need help

Has anybody taken the B1 certification and have any tips to prep? I’m new to the software and going through their online academy, info makes sense but volume is overwhelming.

I’m slightly upset this is called Confessions Part II instead of Confessions Part Deux. I feel like that would have been more funnier.
