Be a manager when I have a kid. No women at my level with a kid. And seeing you all do this is a relief.

OP do not tie levels to life decisions, this isnt a race. Do it when it feels right for you and your partner . The average salary for many jobs is just 75k

I know a few moms at my level just in my practice. Myself, one with three kids who came back after her kids were all in school, and another my age (35) with two. As my husband says, “You do you!”

I don’t think it matters what level you are at, more so that you financially/mentally prepared (IMHO). Day care near me costs $2,300/mo + a mortgage + utilities + extra spending money, etc, etc... I’m a senior consultant now, but we are financially prepared for our kiddo (due in Sept). But everyone is different this is just my perspective 😊.

I have friends who will have their husbands become stay at home dads and are comfortable living on one income. It’s all personal preference, but you will figure out what works for you! 😊😊

I had a baby as a senior consultant and ended up with a great year end rating and a promotion even with six months maternity leave in the performance year. It can definitely be done!

Good luck to you! This bowl had been a big help for me after having my first kid. Some helpful tips and usually just a group of women that make me feel less crazy

I was a senior with my first kid. I learned not to talk about having a baby, and for people who don’t know or don’t need to know they didn’t. But I did get a lot of negative feelings from people who thought they can think for me... sorry bud, am I girl and I’m allowed to make decisions about my own body and career and life. As a manager, I had my second, less negativity but still it can be challenge because people just don’t expect that I have kids. Now I make sure people know so they know YES my time IS limited. The firm needs to earn these best places to work for moms and diverse staff...

I’m a senior and just had a baby. There’s no “right” level to have a kid. Just prepare financially and mentally!

It’s scary! I’m scared. I’m mostly scared that I will have to sacrifice my career... I love ACN and consulting and fear I won’t be able to make it all work! I get so much value out of my job that I don’t know what I’d do if I had to sacrifice it. I’m taking it a day at a time and going by the motto that it works until it doesn’t and I’ll cross that bridge then. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Anyone here adopt a puppy during the infertility struggle? Husband and I considering it to have something positive throughout this situation and thinking the extra companionship would be helpful. I work from home. Husband has had many family dogs and lots of experience with it, I’ve had a family cat before. But not sure if it’s actually a good idea - wondering if it would truly help make us feel better and keep our minds off of the struggles or if it would just add extra stress. Thoughts?

Apparently I got so many skills etc., but I don’t believe in myself rn. Looking for a friend or someone who was in this kind of situation and got out of it. Of course, looking also for a safe haven/job

I am pregnant with my 2nd and my job is very demanding. First trimester was bad for me with my first pregnancy and I took 2 months unpaid personal leave.
I can't afford that now and cannot risk my job. Not in public accounting anymore. I work in SEC reporting at a pharmaceutical company.

I am so thankful to be working from home for sure. I am just really dreaded to turn on my computer everyday with this hell of a morning sickness.

If you have been in similar situation. What worked for you?

Already have about 500k UR points (was intending to spend them on a honeymoon then turned around and got pregnant right after the wedding so honeymoon didn't happen). Would love to accumulate more points for late honeymoon once kid is old enough to leave with my parents.

My father apptly invited my cousin to thanksgiving. The cousin who took my baby name bc she “wasn’t sure it would get used given ‘my situation” and “wanted to make sure it got used since it’s such a beautiful name.” So I guess I’m having dinner across from a 7 month old baby with my dream baby’s name. Super weird to resent an infant on thanksgiving, but that’s where we are..
