I just lateraled into BigLaw as a senior associate in a small market office. However, shortly thereafter became the caretaker for my father. If I don’t make my hours am I off partnership track? How does that work?

OP, will you continue to care for your dad indefinitely? And BTW, good for you for taking on that responsibility. Very challenging but important and humane work.

Absolutely. And good advice. I just wanted to get my head wrapped around the standard before we spoke.

Not making your hours one year won’t kill your partnership prospects. However, if you’re consistently not making them year after year, you’re not making partner and may eventually be laid off.

DM for referrals to a V10 funds reg/reg funds group. Can be based in NY, DC, LA, Bay, or Houston. Preferably mid-levels but also open to 2nd year+. Pref. big law experience, but open to candidates with other forms of securities law experience.

WLB is typical of peer firms but culture and group leadership is honestly outstanding. Very positive, non-toxic environment (believe it or not).
