I just made a decision to move back to the city from living with my parents. I should feel excited but I don’t because I feel guilty that I should be saving money instead.

There are several valid reasons to live on your own in a city even when living with your parents is a "viable" situation. If it's independence or needing space, that's a very solid reason. It goes directly to your well being and ability to relax and recharge. Same for cutting down commute time. More money cannot replace time and energy you have.
My husband and I lived in the basement of his parents' house for awhile to save money but we moved asap once we had the income again because we wanted the space again and we're much better off for it.
I'm not sure what your reasons are but just because one option is cheaper doesn't mean it's better on the whole.

I sometimes feel guilty about doing the same but my home situation was toxic. Even though I visit for weeks at a time sometimes, having the peace of mind that I can leave whenever I feel uncomfortable is priceless.

You might have saved more money but if you’re happier in the city then that is the move. Life is too short to sacrifice your happiness to save some money. I moved back a month ago after being with my parents and I feel like a completely different person. I’m so happy to have my own space again

Thank you for all the perspectives y’all. I feel a little better. I’m just gonna try to make the most out of my move back to the city.

I’m planning on getting my real estate license this spring! My biggest hesitation is that I currently live downtown Chicago and do not own a car. I really do not want to buy or lease a car as the area I live in requires a garage spot to park. Is it realistic to believe that I can be a real estate agent in Chicago if I rely on Uber/CTA?!

Anyone work on a campaign but lose? What did you do next in your career? How did you reframe the loss to advance your career?

As a side-hustle for the past 18 months I was the Communications Director of a campaign for Congress. We had our primary last night and it didn't go as we hoped. At 24 years old, it was a great early experience, I learned a lot, and we have a lot to be proud of, but I'm still reflecting on why we fell short, and deciding how I want to move forward.

I’ll preface with I’m new at this and learning. But I’m researching if I should do an IRA or back door Roth IRA. And maybe I don’t fully understand how taxes work but what is the benefit of a Roth? From my understanding, the amount of tax you pay is mainly based on your tax bracket. Wouldn’t I pay far less taxes (thus inadvertently getting more money) with a traditional Ira since me being retired would put me in a lower tax bracket than me well along in my career?

On the verge of taking two weeks off work (doc gave me a note) but I feel guilty for the work my team will have to absorb. Transitioning medications and I'm a mess, but I want to push through even though there's really no down side except the fear I won't be taken seriously at work.
I can't envision how to spend the time - what if I sleep or mope all day? If you took a LOA what did you do with it and did it help you stabilize & function better?
