I just realized that MS word counts each dot in a bluebook format ellipsis as a separate word. Help! I’m trying to get an accurate word count on my brief and I find it hard to believe this is what a court would consider “three words.”

I think a court would be okay with however word counts it. I hope so because I honestly have never given more thought to it than that!

Calculate it on the side as Word count less number of periods

funny

If you don’t put spaces after the period it does not count as separate words.

Thank you, but then it also does not count as a Bluebook ellipsis.

You can copy and paste your brief into another word document and delete things like ellipses, caption, etc that you don’t want to get picked up by the word count and do that way

Usually, in my experience, courts that require word counts ask you to certify that the document contains X words as calculated by the word processing software, or something to that effect. I’d just stick with that (or use non-bluebook ellipses if you need the word count to go down).

Hi everyone! Just found this bowl and noticed it hasn’t been overly active in awhile. Let’s change that!

Also, I started doing the daily readings on the Conference of Bishops website. Anyone interested in joining me to set up a group bible study of sorts via zoom or something? Could be a good way to meet one another personally and professionally, and it’ll force us to hold one another accountable to do it everyday.

Wife and I bought a house at $445k in Arizona this past summer. We’re wanting to stay in it for 5-6 years and move into one of the many new builds in the area. I’m looking down the road at $700-$1m and trying to figure out how people own these houses. The house I’m in now already seems like it costs a lot for upkeep, bills, etc. can’t imagine the next house 😂

Obviously that next house price doesn’t NEED to be that much. But definitely a want with how much house you can get for that price in AZ
