I just received a job offer at a company I'm very interested in working for (yay!). Their salary offer, however, is at the bottom end of the range specified in the job ad. In my initial interview, I said that my salary expectations align with the range specified by the ad. So, my question is do I ask for more? Or do I just accept the offer? The company benefits are decent and I would get stock options, and it's fully remote - if that influences your answer.

What do y'all think?

Depends on your experience and education. Unless you only have 1 year of experience and no education I wouldn’t accept the lowest end of the range. What would you like to make vs what they’re offering?

Always negotiate! Don’t leave money on the table.

like

Yes ask for more and justify your reasons why you deserve more (assuming you do). These are negotiations so negotiate! Know what salary is too low for you and if you would walk away from it going into negotiations.

U must negotiate after their first offer. It's expected.

I quit my previous job approximately 5-6 months ago due to toxic culture and being pressured to commit fraud. I fear hiring managers see that I’ve been out of work for this time and may assume I was fired or laid off. Additionally I’ve had a couple interviews where company “X” interviewers have commented on this and in an effort to not bad mouth my previous employer I’m stuck with a generic answer like I want to take my career to the next level with Company “X.” I’m stuck. Thoughts/strategies?

We don’t have a formal process to request a merit or cost of living salary increase that I know of… there’s less then 15 people in our company. Do I push it any further?

Received an offer verbally from a company that is a big jump in salary from where I am now. I negotiated 10K extra in base, and 5K extra in bonus. Currently making 125K base, 30K bonus. They are now offering 175K base 20K bonus. They also declined my negotiation for sign on bonus to make up for what I’m leaving on the table by exiting my current firm. Think I should push it any further? I am ready to accept it personally.

The current base is 82k with bonus target of 8k. The new role is 106k base + 17k bonus. New base is also 21k less than midpoint. HR told me they could not negotiate this offer as the jump in salary has already hit cap. Would you accept as is for factors like growth? Or purse methods of negotiation to get closer to mid?

Hi all! I have been working at an agency for about 7 months now and have already shown lots of growth and development. Not to mention, one of my superior’s told me in a 1-on-1 that they thought I was going to be a lot more junior than I was when they hired me and that I have really impressed them with the work I have been doing. My agency typically does yearly reviews but I feel from comments that have been made that I could be deserving of a raise and/or promotion before then. How do I ask?

Im at 54k working 8 years with this company. I found out through colleagues that entered same time as me being at 60-65k. New comers are even starting at 55k… Should I reach out to HR or my program manager to have my salary reviewed. How do I word it for them to actually up it…
