Arizona has some fantastic wellness resorts. Easy to travel alone, doesn’t require a ton of planning, and very safe! Easy to get to from DC too
There is one in the NC Mountains if anyone wants to do a girls trip. It is called the Art of Living. We could show up as strangers, leave as friends, and share consulting war stories in between 🤣
I don’t have recommendations for this time of the year but I’m a huge proponent of alone trips after burnout so I’m following. Also in DC and want to hear recommendations!
Florida Keys, Austin, San Diego, Tulum, Bahamas, Cayman Islands, Belize, Aruba, Lisbon, Seville
Puerto Rico
You could fly direct out of DCA to Puerto Rico
Florida is warmer and easy to access. If you want to head further south, the Caribbean and other countries are great but safety for me is always a bit more of a concern.
Oh yikes. That is cold. This is usually when I head down to spend some time to escape our early winter but good heads up!
Cali!
I hear Cuba is amazing.
Go to Jamaica or the Bahamas! You can just chill on the resorts and get all that good vitamin D!
It’s per room for all of these up to two people.
The Standard in Miami could be a good place. Lots of wellness. Same with Le Fountain Bleu in Miami
If you just want to lay about, I would recommend an all-inclusive almost anywhere. Everything is taken care of. Usually plenty to eat and do on site if you do your research and pick a good resort. Even okay to do some tours solo if the hotel is recommending the tour operators.
You can get directs to Aruba from BWI (I know, I know... but worth the drive for a direct to paradise). And I love it there. Anywhere in the Caribbean is good but Aruba is GREAT!
Bermuda! 90 minutes from the east coast, beautiful, and very very safe for a woman traveling alone.
It’s the same latitude as to GA/SC. Not great in winter for somewhere really warm and tropical.
I’m all about Bermuda, otherwise.
Stay at the Boca Raton Beach Resort and Club or the Breakers in south Florida. Both very safe for someone alone and are great getaways.
