Any one familiar with comp for a Portfolio Associate roll at PIMCO on their mortgage backed securities team? I’m looking at an offer and want make sure I’m in line with the average comp for the company and industry. Only 4 months of experience and offer is 98k w/ 10-20% bonus plus 15k relo/ sign on. Looking at Glassdoor, bonuses seem higher than quoted by the hiring manager. (No written offer yet they say they’re still working on it)

They all play a role. Don’t go hard on yourself. It’s not the end of the world. Never regret after taking a decision, plan for the future!
Also to the people saying “you don’t know if the new team or project is gonna be worst.”
please ignore them. Without risk you’re never gonna know what’s there for you on the other side (schrodinger’s cat theory)
I always say “Opportunity cost is opportunity lost!”
Growth little or more is GROWTH. please have faith in yourself and LOVE, literally love yourself.
If you have made a decision, I’m sure you wisely thought about it before resigning and joining too, don’t seek others validations!

I can understand the drive to get out, but i also understand that you're lazy and didn't even bother giving more interviews. And because of this you lost a lot of money which otherwise you could have easily scored.
Loss of opportunities is what we call it.

Very inconsiderate to think someone is lazy just because they didn't gave more interviews. Personally when i switched last time, i couldn't attend a lot of interviews because i had a surgery and i was not in a state to attend interviews everyday. Also it depends a lot on how much work you have during your notice period, those who don't have any work can attend interviews all day, but not all are lucky to have such kind of situation
Mental health >>>>>> Money 💰
No, getting out of toxic environment is more important. Money can come later on. Its 1 lakh that counts

If you were in a toxic environment before and now you are in a good project with a good wlb then it's fine.
If all goes well, who knows in your appraisals you may get a good hike ✌️
If you feel you are not learning anything new here then you can upskill and switch outside.
Bro I switched from my first company and paid the bond amount of 1.75 lacs for a 1.75 lac increment in my CTC. Turned out to be the besr decision of my career. I had spent more than a year in my first company sitting on bench, getting passed around from project to project and not writing a single line of code in an actual project there. I realised if it kept going on like that, my career would be in jeopardy. So I used my time on bench to learn stuff, made small projects and switched. In my 2nd company, I wrote more code in just 8 months than I would've written in any other company. That helped me catchup with my peers in the same domain.
I did exactly the same after 6 months in previous job and switched at same package. Financially yes it's not a good decision, but life is much more than money and sometimes we have to make compromise for x/y/z reasons. There's no right answer buddy, you have to let go and focus on next step
Yes. I Also switched for 10 % hike last year. Again switched this year due to less pay. I got 100 % this time..
Bosch was ex-org. I left because collegue of same exp and skillset was getting 2x my salary and they were not ready to normalize the salary. Whatever company it may be, its always a demotivation to have salary way below industrial standards.
Ignore this negativity bhai.
Feel happy that you came out of that toxic place. Now stay here for 2 years and switch.
It is not waste, it is something you learnt by experience. Now you may know on what all basis you switch further.
You got out of a bad situation, that's the most important thing right now. Please ignore people who say otherwise. I'd be okay switching without an increment if it meant getting away from a bad environment. Just keep in mind that you did what was best for you at that point, and have no regrets.
No, it's not a mistake.
Actually a very good decision, first mental health is more important than anyone else and in leaving a toxic environment far more better than hike.
So it's a good decision and don't regret, all the best for a better future.
It's important that you are happy and healthy in life. :). You need money for your needs and sometime for wants in life.
You think it is a mistake now. But wait one or two year you will know you have taken the best decision. It is life and things get worked on. Who knows you will be sitting in some faang companies who will give you enormous hike.
Why do you need validation for your actions from strangers? Just ask yourself if you are in a better situation compared to earlier? This time your top priority is mental peace, next time it could be money or anything else. There is no simple right or wrong response to your situation. As some of other contributors saying, don't be harsh on yourself. Enjoy your new sense of peace and progress from here. All the best.
Definitely 10% is way too less for a switch and if you show your desperation then companies definitely take advantage of it.
But I would not say it's not a waste because you got the mental peace which was the actual need at that time and this offer gave you that. So don't overthink and be happy.
There are always companies hiring people so you can anytime increase your salary by giving interviews. And now that you are not desperate anymore, you can easily target your desired salary.
Do as you please and what gives you mental peace. Do not take advice of people who themselves are clueless regarding what they want but would potray otherwise. If you keep comparing you will always be unhappy. Try to find out what gives you peace and happiness. People have moved out even at the same salary, returned to their previous companies at prior packages just to get rid of toxic cultures so chill and try to keep up
Nothing is a mistake. Just find something from here thats it.
Some people might think of it as a mistake but If it makes you happy, It doesn't have to make sense to anybody else... 😊
