I just want to be reckless and quit my job do nothing. I've always followed the rules and been a good girl and all its gotten me is misery in this job.

How do you guys deal with staying away from your parents/grandparents especially when they are at an age where they need you?

I am a brand new mom in the Milton/Alpharetta area and I’m wondering how other moms navigated meeting new mom friends? I would love to find a good group (or just a few random) girlfriends - they don’t even have to be moms, but in this season of life, it feels like that might be the most natural connector. All suggestions welcome! If there are specific groups/activities you recommend, that would be super helpful.

Anyone have a spouse who isn't in their field and feel like it would be more interesting if both of you were in the same line of work?

I don't know if this is a symptom of quarantining but I'm just bored by the day to day banter we share about our kids and family. I was married for 3 years & she left 1 day bc she realized that she was no longer “happy”. A week later, I caught her in a parking lot w/ her coworker & finalized the divorce. American society would be in a better place if all of the “woke” young Americans of European descent used the same energy to talk with their loved ones who are bigoted, racist, and/or sexist. My husband and I have had problems for years. He used to basically give me next to no affection, our sex life barely existed (incl. his absolute refusal to do foreplay … ever!) and his general dismissal of anything I enjoyed (my hobbies were boring to him). Over the last year I just gave up trying and accepted we may need to divorce. Now he is trying a lot- he puts in a lot of effort. Today I have officially made the decision to stop taking any and all cases that involve children. I feel like a huge weight has been lifted!! I just had to share with other professionals that understand. Yes, this will be a financial blow, but I’m fine with it.

It’s my birthday in a few minutes. 2021 has been a terrible year for me. My marriage ended. It wasn’t a bad end though. We are still close, just not romantic partners anymore. The very first dog I ever had died and I couldn’t go see her because of the quarantine. I didn’t get a promotion that I more than deserved. I don’t think I get paid well. Most of my friends moved out of the city and I’m having to meet new people at 32. I love my job but it’s incredibly stressful. I’m terribly lonely.

Is it just me or have the people with kids in vacation destinations really lost all consideration for those who also want to be on vacation without them?

I rationed my kids’ Easter candy because “it’s not good for you” then ate most of it myself after they were in bed.
