I keep seeing posts/comments about people making $150k base salary at the age of 25...where is this happening? And how do I join the party?

Umm it's not happening. It's called ' a 25% embellishment bonus'

funnylike

It does happen but it's not very common.

It would happen if you join MBB straight out of college and get promoted. It also happens to me cause I graduated younger than average. It also happens to people who make shit up on this app.

Leave Accenture - that’s how 😏

Can get close in strat. C3 is 150. So a stretch but certainly doable if you start working at 21.

Move to an ultra high COL city 😂

Possible if you: 1. studied CS at a top school and worked in tech in the Bay Area or you’re a quant in NY 2. Studied finance at a top school, graduated at 20/21, then did banking > PE 3. Studied at a top school and got into MBB with accelerated promotions 4. You’re a remarkably young MD finishing residency 5. You’re an overworked nurse in the Bay Area 6. You work long hours on an oil rig 7. You have a rich uncle that you work for I totally believe 25 yr olds can make much more than $150k/yr if they run their own company, are good investors, or got lucky at a start up. But $150k base at a F1000 at age 25 is slim

Not at $150K base, but at $210K total comp with stocks and bonus. In a BizOps role at a Tech company at 26. Most of my friends at MBB are seeking $150-$200K TC exits after ~3 years of experience.

Interviewing for a great position in industry (tech). They have equity comp & great benefits. Spoke to their HR, then interviewed with 2 people in the tax department and am getting scheduled for a next round of interviews. The only problem is: the office is about 1 hr from my house (I own). They said repeatedly that they want someone who will be in the office 5 days a week. I would actually move but can’t rent out my place now due to some repairs going on that will take 4-5 months.
