(cont) to engage in deep work and be more productive and entrepreneurial, looking for opportunities to sell in work. Presenting over the phone vs. in-person allows me to command the "room" in a way that has led to better client engagement and trust in me. But recognizing this, in the end, makes me sad because everything “holding me back” had nothing to do with my talent or abilities or, and, I cannot stress this enough, my desire to do the work.
The established system, prior to this, was not designed for someone like me to thrive. Shaking up the status quo out of necessity has been eye-opening for me and, I hope, for those in power who tell themselves lies like “we have to work this way” and “women just aren’t as ambitious, especially when they have kids.”
I feel this exact same way. The previously established system is not a place I could thrive in and don’t want to go back to that full time again.

1000% agree. My client and c-suite relationships are slammin’ right now in a way I *know* they would not be if the majority of my time was f2f.
