i know i’m just being silly and paranoid but what happens if the Accountancy Board Audits you and finds your CPE not applicable (like you have the hours but they don’t think all the classes are valid)

do you just have to pay a fine and then take more CPE? like i just want to make sure there’s room to fix any potential errors

My question is with my YOE being only 1.5 years as an application developer, will the program even benefit me? I do feel confident with my knowledge but anywhere I see , they ask like 3-5 YOE for a decent salary say 8lpa+.

I thought I found the perfect position in March but I was let go today. I was blindsided. Never a complaint, my reviews were excellent and I got along well with the owners. My only issue was the PEO not speaking with me and going directly to the owners with her agenda. I asked ownership to work with me and I would pull the PEO in, if necessary. Apparently, they have a longstanding friendship and he does not think of them as a vendor as a friend. She suggested a on-site PEO rep and out I go!

Was offered a senior accounting position in NYC for 100k and a 20% discretionary bonus. My EY raise in October will put me at 91k. I feel like 100k base is low given all the benefits at EY (ex: phone bill, internet bill, fitness fund) but the recruiters are saying 100k for someone with 3 years experience is unheard of. Why the heck would anyone get their tax return done at a big four accounting firm? You are paying $600 an hour to have your information sent to India where it is completed and then returned to the office where is is “reviewed” by fresh accounting grads, many of which who have never even looked at an actual tax return before. The preparers at H&R Block and Liberty Tax get more training than “preparers” at some of these accounting firms…
