I know it’s all been said before. I would’ve never expected to be in this kind of situation or that it’d go on for so long. Others have lost far more than I have due to COVID. I’m grateful for my health. But I still feel an insurmountable sense of loss from everything that’s happened. A professional opportunity I worked for years to achieve had finally materialized and then disappeared just as quickly. I feel isolated and hopeless, just trying to survive and one day see an end to the madness.

Going Roatán like I forgot how to travel. • Alarm goes off at 5:15, wake up at 7:45 • Forgot headphones • Forgot charger • Checking bag and it’s 100% self serve (but I don’t work here) • Cant check laptop because of battery and it won’t fit it scuba gear bag… that’s why I have 2 hands (coffee and random laptop) • Negative Covid test, check, but it’s 20 min outside the 72 hour window based on who knows what time they chose and didn’t mention (don’t worry, they’ll just give me another one haha) 😅

Transparant communication doesn‘t mean to give away all information at hand, but to formulate an reasonable explanation, stand up to one’s responsibility and to address it on time. Everything else is either promise without action, or pure malevolence.

Have you ever felt like you don’t actually know anything and are just faking it? How do you get over this? I feel like, for example, I don’t know how to really do analytics even though I do it on a day to day basis. It’s hard for me to not have an overarching, collectively exhaustive view of a topic to feel comfortable speaking on it. It often causes me to delay deliverables or just not speak up in meetings and I want to improve at this.

I am applied to IBM multiplied times. Heard they hiring big time. However even am all the skill set they are asking and a good resume, have never received call from them. Went through a referral. Still same. When my reference asked the HR about me not getting a call, he said it sometimes happens. Nobody knows who will get the call. Sometimes people get in a day, but many times they don't. Is there any thing else I can try? Has it happened with anyone else?
