EY FS NY and I think the culture is very supportive and not cut throat at all.
Ive heard EY in terms of people wise overall is better. I agree
PwC AWM in NY is toxic, would run if you don’t think you’re cut out for game of thrones like politics and backstabbing
PwC2 is one of the directors and above in that group that have a god complex lmao
Worked in AWM, backstabbing, super complex and god awful
Tax or audit
NYFS for KPMG - Everyone’s super cool for my client but the hours are definitely higher, that has a lot to do with the complexity of this client though. Overall I appreciate it and I feel like my colleagues have my back
Im in FS B4 so double whammy for me. I can take the heat but being in FS no, moving to a diff b4 for better pay and non fs.
Can you expand or this? Considering B4 NYC
It really depends on your luck. I work at PwC and its been very much vocalized that(esp nym are) our culuture here is pretty cuthroat/ tough. I am in the FS and its true people will throw you under the bus like no other. I think b4 teaches you alot of skill - I am moving to another b4 with a better culture fit.
PE/AWM sector is awesome. Smartest clients on the planet and high performing internal culture.

All NYC B4 offices are cutthroat, especially any financial services group I would opt for the B4 NJ/CT/LI offices to be near NYC
Deloitte NY FS is not really cutthroat either. Everyone works long hours and the work can be grueling but the environment is good.

Everyone talking about places that aren't cutthroat in financial services... Y'all are gonna help the team this person is leaving be even more understaffed 😂 Same with crz NY FS team. Some great people, and pretty great clients
It’s your practice. This business is a team sport, they’ll figure it out eventually.
I’ve worked in AWM NY office for years and I don’t feel that it is cutthroat. More so that the hours are grueling and you have to be a pretty quick learner to pick up the technology. For the most part people are willing to teach/advise you if you reach out. I would say if you’re in ITS or M&A the culture there can be more cutthroat since I’ve worked with some arrogant people there.

Just brutal in AWM if you’re a slow learner. Wouldn’t say it’s cutthroat though
I don’t believe that PwC NY IM tax is cutthroat.
