does the money in this profession (i.e. tax) come with time? it’s been a hard few years and sometimes i feel foolish for choosing this. at least knowing long term i can one day make low to mid 100s may make it worthwhile

I have been approached with an opportunity at JP Morgan Chase for their private client advisor role. The book is about 30M all in. Do biglaw paralegals all get paid hourly with overtime? I always feel bad about asking for late-night paralegal help for filings, but my sense is that they’re all eager to do it, presumably for an OT rate.

I am interested in moving to another state and realized that this state has one of the most restrictive reciprocity rules in the country. I've passed multiple bar exams. However, I won't get any credit for time I worked in CA because CA isn't reciprocal. I swore I'd never take another bar after taking CA - and now I have to take another exam if we move. I worked in big law in CA for two years and get no credit! Yet the exam has been waived for new grads for COVID. It sure limits our move.

How do you get better at contract negotiations? (I’m a 4th yr. in commercial real estate) I feel like I’m generally good at pulling together an initial draft of an agreement (ex PSAs)...but I struggle when comments come back. Weird question- or confessional (unsure tbh)- do any of you ever play hooky? I billed all weekend (7 year atty in ID) and today is wicked weather in the south so I’m “wfh” but not really. I didn’t have time for Sunday scaries but now I’m having Monday guilts, as I cope by watching my dogs sleep and watch the GOT prequel out of the corner of my eye while going through emails.
