USI Insurance brokerage and consulting - thoughts? A recruiter reached out to me via linked in and I was wondering if anyone had any opinions on this company. They seem to have decent reviews on Glassdoor but I was hoping to get more insight into workload and comp. Thanks in advance! USI

I usually get it from IMGlobal.com, I get the Patriot America Plus. I have had 5 claims over the last 3 years.
My experience with the claims wasn’t as good. Their terms have a bunch of loopholes they use to find a reason to deny the claims. And good luck getting to a competent support person. I have about 120k worth of medical bills for my MIL and most of the claims so far have been denied for one reason or another.
SM1- really sorry to hear that. Not sure if you are an anomaly or if this is the real trend. We all think we are playing it safe by getting insurance. But are we really “insured"?
I had to take care of claims for an eye infection my dad developed. Was very easy. Had to send the context and some notes from visit and was reimbursed, no questions. It was also an expensive coverage though.... was just erring on the safe side
I have had all my claims fully reimbursed. It takes work to follow up and make sure you are on top of it.
Good to hear few positives. Helps build a well rounded perspective.
@BCG1 and @EY1, who did you get the parents’ insurance from ?
EY1 - how much do you typically pay per person insured? Approx? I just entered tentative dates for my moms upcoming trip, and it gave me a quote of $1500+! Is that normal or did I input something weird?
PwC1 what is the duration of her coverage and her age? If over 70 and duration of like 5 months, then it seems about right
Thank you for confirming OP. Stay is over 5 months. Age 68. I guess I never realized visitor insurance is that expensive.
Yeah it’s very expensive, especially the comprehensive coverage which is what you should get. The expensiveness of the coverage is the reason for this post, to seek opinion regarding its worthiness.
I typically pay 170 per month for my dad. He is 71.
It varies based on total coverage and deductible. I usually choose 50k and $100.
