I know the protests are justified. To be honest, I am also very scared about a potential rise in COVID post protests. So many deaths and jobs lost in first peak. Hope everyone comes out of this with real change for our society and also safe/healthy.

On the positive side, could these protests lead to herd immunity?

like

You need 80 pct of the population to achieve herd immunity.

We were told to stay at home but suddenly it is morally acceptable to protest for this? People will die from Covid as a result.

I agree haircuts, stay at home protestors pointless but still...

like

This will be proof that COVID is nothing but media scare tactics. We’re all fine

If that's the case Trump wins, prob either way. if the protestors increase covid he can call them morons if it doesn't spread he can call it a hoax.

A1. How do you figure this is a scare tactic? We have over 100k dead 💀

Associates, how did you balance your morning sickness and fatigue in early pregnancy with work? Thankfully I’m still WFH, but worried about receiving insane turnarounds that require me to stay up late/all night and the effect it might have on the baby. I’m past my hours for the year and feel like I should be able to say no, but the team I’m on has a tendency to push past no’s.

Less than a year before I can retire and not sure I can make it. The stress at home, work and with the aches and pains of my 54 year old body are taking their toll. Serious question - is there a reverse FIRE strategy? I like the idea of saving and retiring early, but the one hiccup I see (and sorry if this is grim) is if you die earlier than expected. I’d be worried that I would minimize lifestyle and fun for retirement at 50 but I’d die at 49. How about a way to work 9 months out of the year and retire/travel/relax for 3 months? This way you guaranteed your dreams/etc. are fulfilled

I saw a great thread online about a Black physician who saved the day when a patient came in for an urgent MRI, but had metal pins in her wig so none of the white nurses or doctors could get it off. Black Physician rushed in with some alcohol and got it off in no time. We are crucial to the healthcare field for so many reasons, remember that!

Anyone else feel obligated to take family/friend referrals to healthcare providers? My brother is a dentist and, in light of some work I need done, said "hey! Go to so-and-so at such-and-such. He's a friend and really great." And I'm sure he IS really great, but I love my dentist and don't feel a need to switch. But my brother has already told his friend to expect me.

Just heard about the Black Enterprise Women of Power conference, and the attendee who had COVID-19.

This is why other conferences are cancelling. Yes, you will lose money but is an outbreak worth it?

I just logged in for open enrollment and see that my benefit costs are increasing quite a bit. Family of 4 - medical/dental/vision will be about $345/pay period plus whatever I contribute to my HSA. Is this the norm now or is this way too much? We are also on an income based rate plan and I recently crossed into the bottom of the most expensive tier so it’s an even bigger hit over the normal YoY increase.

Looking for some specific info on Short Term Disability eligibility at EY. I would like to accept an offer, but won’t be eligible for 16-wk parental leave before 1 yr of tenure. This is an important detail for me since I am expecting this year. I have received in email that for parents who have a child *before* 1 year, that they are eligible for STD after 3 mnths at 100% for 6 weeks (+3weeks of approved PTO). is there fine print that pregnancy is a ‘pre-existing condition’ and I’d be denied?
