I know there’s a lot of variability in this question but... on average what big four holding company pays the best in ranking order? I’ve heard the following: 1. Publicis 2. OmniCom 3. WPP 4. IPG

Depends on your position.

So much variability in fact that it is probably impossible to answer in a meaningful way.

I make $15K more for a role at a Publicis agency than I did at WPP for a similar but more senior role

They probably pay more because nobody wants the challenging job but they desperately in need of someone to take it.

Pay is a taboo subject in my office so who knows. But I’m interviewing at OMD to make a lateral move and getting offered 15k more. Just my experience tho I can’t make a call on the whole industry

Depends on the agency and type of work. As far as perception goes, you may flip IPG and WPP on your list. It's pretty crowded for starting salary of experienced talent across the groups. They aren't dumb.

From what I’ve seen, WPP pays the worst for roles around my level

Looking at the whole benefit package too Some companies vest your 401k company match within a year, others 3.

Ipg could be the best for external hires, not sure about internal

Agree with your comment about external hires at IPG but they also make internal promotions close to borderline EEO violations, depending on which team you’re on. It’s kind of toxic and well hidden but the politics are infamous.

Literally the exact opposite in my experience.

I’ve been at all but Omnicon and my answer is none of the above. Dentsu paid more than the others.

I would assume as much, that’s why I specified the big four (I realize they might not actually be the biggest four anymore)

Publicis likely has to pay more all else being equal.

Who’s doing the best work? That should be the real question. Pub does pay pretty well though.

The order of best work would be 1. Omnicom 2. IPG 3. WPP 4. Publicis
