The Sheraton is fantastic
That’s fair! I’ve never stayed at the laylow so I can’t compare. Personally I’d save the money on lodging and then go spend it on activities
Haven’t stayed at Sheraton Waikiki (was at a Hilton nearby), but ended up walking through/by a few times. Looked like a lot of fun with a great location and pool. Can’t comment on the rooms, obviously
Rooms are on the smaller end, esp compared to the Hilton Hawaiian village - but worth it for the amenities and how nice it is IMO
FWIW, I went to Oahu during December and ended up just getting an Airbnb bc the cost of hotels were higher when you factor in taxes and the daily resort fee which ran anywhere between 40 - 60/day. My Airbnb was 15 min away (by foot) from Waikiki and the beach in that area. And also 15 min away from another beach in the opposite direction of Waikiki. If I remember correctly, I think I paid about 200/night.
It just depends on what experience you’re looking for. I knew I wasn’t going to spend that much time indoors bc I had plans to spend the week sightseeing all over the island, but if you just want to take it easy and lounge around the hotel, then that’s a different story.
