Two years in, NYC: I could last 11 months.
Wow. Well done.
All night long.
2 months in SF
6 months, but I’ve built that fund just this year. I’m all about saving right now thanks to COVID. In about a year if I haven’t been laid off, I might quit my job and get my MBA at Harvard! #CollegeStudent4Ever!
Pro
3-5 with unemployment
In nyc? Not long. But why not go to Nicaragua Laos or Estonia. More interesting and money goes way further. In fact, social security would be enough to live on. And not many Americans around! Bonus!
The surf is good too.
I could last 1.5+ years factoring in some fun money, too. Could easily stretch to 2-2.5 years though.
About a year, maybe more assuming I'd spend less if I was unemployed
Yeah, maybe 10-12 months
I feel think I’ve had a little chunder into my wine glass by the PAY
Lol wut
I actually did get laid off not along ago, so I’ve counted a few years for sure. Only because I’ve invested moneyzzz in some rental property and it bring in a stable income.
7 months without having to sell investments, year and a half if I sell (NYC/31/single)
3 months from only emergency fund. 6 months If I count unemployment benefits with the emergence fund. Roughly 9 years if i count everything in my net worth based on current stock market evaluation - savings, 401k, IRAs, and stocks etc.
About 4-6 months, if I kept my current expenses. But that would wipe out my savings account. My biggest expense is rent, so I’d move out as quickly as my lease was up.
I've been laid off too many times not to have a ton saved for times like these. I also have zero debt. Still stresses me out to think about the next couple of years with 2 kids.
1 month. 🤣😭
Working on my emergency fund right now. Plan to build it to 6 months then move onto other priorities.
Love seeing all this! I’ve been using Every Dollar. It’s gone a long way for addressing stupid spending habits I had.
I’m furlough and have about 18 months.
About a year or so comfortably in NYC
Keeping same expenses and quality of life about two years in NYC
About a year?
6 months with some fun $
About 3 years in NYC
