The job will be there in two months. I'd keep looking and continue to weigh your options and WLB

Fair point, thank you!! 👍🏼

If you cannot find a good job in near term, you can talk to your partner and check if they are interested in giving you a contract role for a few months to keep your cash flow positive until you find what you want. I have done that to my trustworthy Directors and Senior Managers.

That’s an awesome idea 💡- thanks for sharing, very helpful!

The reasons for why you left will still be there when you go back the rat race is still there, only that now you sell with the travel challenges. So in short, by going back, you will not solve any of the key reasons why you left. Not sure if you needed to hear this, but it keeps me from going back to external consulting. Otherwise, you can always reach out to the Partners if you still have a good relationship.

I guess I needed to hear that from someone else, too... 🙈 Apprecite you sharing your personal experience, thanks!!

I also left without a job- with me it was both WLB and just couldn’t pretend PowerPoint decks mattered so much to me. Took me 7 months pre covid, got a couple offers come February including at Microsoft. I’ve loved it and so glad I went through the pain. I’d stick it out until the end of February at the least. You left for a reason....2021 hiring picks up in late jan and companies see the end of covid on the horizon

Thanks for sharing your story, very uplifting 💪🏼 Congrats on your new role!

You left for a reason, don’t turn back! Keep at the job hunt.

Hang in there OP! There tends to be many new job openings starting mid Jan when people are back to work! Good luck!

Thanks for cheering me up!

I obviously wouldn’t want to rejoin out of despair, but I’ve come to think that I want to give myself 2, 3 more months of job hunting before turning to that offer. Insane? Stupid? Crazy? All of the above? 🤣 What’s your view on this?

Asking for advice please. I’m making 57k as a Finance Coordinator (2 yrs). My work is a hybrid role: 1) Exec assistant for a C-Level exec, 2) Financial Analyst. I cannot become Analyst now due to an on-going visa application that is going to take about 1-1.5 years. I am very grateful that my company is willing to help me with my visa (around 10k) this year. But I am thinking about asking for 70-75k since living cost in LA is pretty high and sometimes my bank account can be negative. What to do?

I recently started to date again and I’m currently dating someone who’s finishing up his masters in data science. I do some data analytics in my role (well my title for my client says data analytics consultant) but I work in strategy. He keeps asking me complex data science/data analytics questions (even tho he knows I don’t have a background in it) and jokes about if I even know what I’m doing at work. Am I taking this too seriously or is he always trying to put me down?

My professional life at the moment is far from ideal. I’ve been on quarantine (long story, but a good one) for the last seven years. Royalties from my books don’t pay the bills. My entrepreneurial pursuits remain hampered. For the interim, I’ve been looking for a remote opportunity where I can leverage my skills in marketing, sales, social media, and elsewhere for a decent sum. I have a social media presence which, in recent years, reached millions. There has to be something exciting I can do.

Hey all - need some important advice. I feel like I under-bargained base/starting salary at Slalom. Got 79K base with up to 8% bonus in a low-to-medium cost of living area as an AC. I'm 1 year out of college (top 40 uni) with ~1 year of NON-consulting experience (mostly programming/software dev. experience at some small companies). How should I expect to increase the salary up to six-figures for the next 2-3 years?
