Some of the best competent people have left recently as a result. Now they’re constantly posting propaganda on LI pretending it’s a “fun & cool” place to work. It makes me want to throw up in my mouth. I was I could tell all the naive young millennials to run, as fast as they can or else they better watch their backs…

I am on an engagement that has 2 managers. I enjoy working with 1 manager. He is very understanding and provides feedback/guidance. However, the other belittles me. She is constantly asking “why” and even when I am not sure of the response she keeps pressuring. She provides no actual information for me to learn from. Not sure if I should correct her on how she should speak to me. Or if I should jump ship & ask not to be on this engagement. still new so i am not stuck on this team yet.

Is this inappropriate? I am part of a HR management team and there is a rumor about the other HR manager having relations with our GM. She sent out a mass text message to the company stating that these rumors need to stop and note that malicious gossip will not be tolerated moving
forward. Someone that is purposefully sharing false information will be considered as harassment, discrimination, retaliation, and/or defamation will be termed. I feel as if this is highly inappropriate, thoughts?

I feel like my work place is either discriminating against me or has me on a list to get rid of. At the expense of coming across as a jerk I stand up for myself at work and I'm not afraid of telling my work place no. Which is one reason I feel I'm on a list that my upper management doesn't like. I don't go out of my way to be a jerk but I know my rights as an employee and my work place doesn't like that. They won't let me promote but let people I've trained get promoted.

Does your firm consider Asian Americans to be POC for purposes of partnership promotions, etc.? I have multiple times now been purposefully staffed with other POC (non-Asian) attorneys and have been told to staff juniors who are women. Are you responsible for giving performance feedback? Avoid giving personality based feedback. Examples include telling an Asian person they are too quiet/shy or telling a Black person they are agressive/abrasive. DO NOT DO THIS. It clearly represents bias in Performance Management. Performance feedback should be tied to business outcomes with clear examples of what the person does well + how they can improve.
