I left my tv career for consulting. So far, consulting has been more lucrative but also more mundane.

What tv career

I've got a friend who made a similar move. Well, he was an actor, so in the same realm at least.

He had a decade of bit pieces in shows and a few movies, was in a couple music videos, then cast as the main supporting actor in a pilot that didn't get picked up. Decided to move to the UK and has been doing some sort of consulting over there since then. Last I heard he was making more, and much steadier, money than he ever did as an actor, but was bored out of his mind.

So relatable. I am bored out of my mind too 😂

What kind of TV career is it exactly? Why would you say consulting is more lucrative? I thought jobs like those you formerly had pays well. I guess I'm wrong. Consulting is not mundane, maybe it's because you are now exposed to reality.

How many yrs did you work in tv?

What kind of consulting? You can move up the the harder versions of it in case you want it to be interesting/challenging.

You’ll have to say goodbye to your life though.

I do the same thing. I audition and film on weekends or nights. Take the occasional PTO if I’m optioned.

2) will they recover this or it depends on case to case basis.
3) will I get all my relieving and experience letter as I resigned properly.
4) will PF be created for me as the period I had here was very short one.

In the fall I was starting to explore external opportunities but a leadership position internally became available so I decided to go for it, despite low comp increase. I’m 6 mos in and am primarily just doing 1:1s. One company checked in with me and want to move to an offer for an IC role because I don’t have enough management experience..I’m torn between just cutting my losses and making a move or sticking it out for the full year. Thoughts?
