Is an MBA really worth it for a career pivot?
I interviewed for Data Analyst role at EY, it went well and the job sounds great, but I'm a bit hesitant to leave PwC because I really like the firm and I'm just 8 months in my job as an associate at a subgroup of ITS that has some focus on technology and analytics but it's mostly tax compliance.
I do want to transition to data analytics but I'm not sure if it's a good idea to go to another big 4, or maybe just look for a position in industry.
Any advice or similar experience?

OP sounds like someone I wouldn't want to work for. While there should always be discretion with work conversations, if you want an echo chamber find a company that will do that for you.
Have a look in your state on LinkedIn. Filter all jobs to the last week. Filter by function but leave key words and sector open. Spend 60 minutes going through and scanning and see what catches your eye. Draw up a shortlist of 10 interesting positions and that will give you a guide to work from. Filter by seniority also depending on your salary expectations
Why are you considering owning the company if you don’t aspire to work with the people there? Also from what you wrote it sounds like that would be years away so wouldn’t put my eggs in that basket.
We all work with people we don’t want to work with. It’s called being professional. Having said that, this is a chance to develop your interpersonal skills to see what you can/cannot influence.
‘Hey, know I haven’t mentioned this before but this has bubbled up for me and I need to say something. I find it challenging when xyz. Can I suggest abc solution. Am open to other ideas’
Honestly, give the above a go but I would be looking for a new role. Good luck.
I think my main thought is that whatever you think of someone, they probably think similar of you.
Don’t like the way discussions are bought up / what topics are discussed? This is inherit in this small companies DNA.
Why take over that business?

I am in commercial construction project management, I have a background mainly in design (architectural) but not formal through my career path. I moved outside of pgh so I’m challenged a bit with opportunities, I’d be interested in something remote or working toward a completely different career - potentially work on a google certificate in PM or UX - any feedback on this route is appreciated!
