Does anyone know the likelihood of successfully negotiating with Lyft’s insurance? A friend was injured in GA when a Lyft driver hit his car (his Tesla recorded the whole thing) and Lyft is pushing him to accept a pain and suffering payout. He was injured, but not seriously enough for a hospital stay. His Tesla was totaled. Not my practice area so any insight is appreciated!

I'm really struggling with depression as my husband of 7 years asked for a divorce a few weeks ago. We are still sleeping in the same bed and living together but aren't really talking or anything else. He moves out the end if this month and I move back woth my parents the end if November. Does having a security clearance make you more valuable? Are they tied to a specific firm or to the employee?

Currently a senior, working hard to promote Manager in a year/two. Firm wants to submit PERM with EB3 senior position and said no promotion should be taken until getting I140. Only less than 2yrs left on H1B. Getting 140 can take very long and don’t want to delay career progress. Is this even right, why cannot file PERM for a future position? What can I do now? Pls advice!

Iam naveen working at Amazon as transportation specialist L3 for almost a year.can I please get any suggestions moving to L4 or get better pay than this in any other roles.

What should the reaction be if the vaccines end up only being reasonably effective. Say we end up with a going forward rate of 100,000 dead per year. Or 50,000. Is there a point at which you say you were willing to take the risk and move back to a normal life (gatherings, restaurants, travel, etc.)? Recognizing they lockdowns can temporarily reduce counts, but not eliminate the disease.

Why is no one compelling Clorox or Lysol to ramp up manufacturing? Disinfectant is worth more than toilet paper right now and all I see are TP jokes!

Honestly, what do you think weddings will look like this summer? We have already postponed twice from last spring, and are slated for late June this year, but are feeling pretty uneasy about this@even happening. We are considering cancelling the whole thing and doing a smaller intimate wedding with family/friends. We would lose all our deposits, and need to do the math on it, but we just are having a hard time justifying spending all the money for a big wedding this summer if people don’t (cont)

I feel like I don't fit in with the upper middle class culture of accounting sometimes. I come from a lower middle class family, and it's hard to relate to the things my coworkers talk about - fancy houses, fancy cars, new gadgets that they are getting. I never grew up with those things, so I'm a little lost or it just don't seem that important to me. Perhaps I'm being judgemental, but I don't mean to be, it seems like we just have different priorities. Can anyone relate or have advise?

Wow…covid is really over. I live in a rural area where we knew covid was happening but it never really impacted the community or daily life. However when I’d go into the city it was very very obvious there were huge life impacts and fear. I just went into the city for the first time in about 3 months and it’s like covid never happened. It makes me wonder how many other things that have drastically changed (like wfh and hand sanitizer) will go back to normal as people go back to normal.
