I live in a 3 bedroom house all in upper level next to each other. My toddler sleeps in the room next to stairs and the master is the last. My toddler is such a light sleeper with the hatch on , usually wakes up as soon as I come to room. I am due in 4 weeks and think I will end up having 2 screaming kids at night. We also have a finished basement but it’s cold. Any tips on how to make toddler sleep without running out of room for slightest noise ?

Would also try sound proofing the door (there are easy stick on tubing to put in the door frame and draft blockers). That worked wonders for us. Another idea, that we use when traveling is to stay with them for a long time while someone else does the typical noises in the house and you point them out and talk about them. (e.g do you hear that? It's daddy, let's listen.. That's the doorknob, daddy is going into the bedroom) If they know to identify them it's easier to dismiss them and refocus on sleep.

Perhaps a white noise machine at low volume slowly increased each night would get him/her used to a little noise and give you some cover?

like

Second this. My son doesn't like the white noise anymore so we turn it on after he falls asleep so he won't wake up.

like

Try turning up his hatch and adding another sound machine in the hall to muffle footsteps snd eventually crying

Hello everyone. I interviewed at Google last month and was rejected after the 2nd interview (non-tech role). I will definitely apply again after 6-12 months but since I didn’t make it to the on-site round, how likely are the chances that Google will reach out to me again in the near future?

I will also appreciate referrals at FAANG companies (non-tech business roles). My most recent role has been of an Executive (early professional stage). Thank you :)

Fellow millennial lawyers: tell me, in general terms, 1 or 2 clients you acquired and how you acquired them. I feel like the suggested strategies for developing business are always the same: network, build your brand (hate this phrase), market yourself on LinkedIn, etc. Does any of this work? Seems to me to that most business development comes from long-standing contacts (e.g. your childhood best friend is now CEO and needs legal services), so I’m curious how other attorneys developed business.

Anyone here a long term IQVIA employee? How have we dealt with economic downturn? Do we have yearly layoffs like Big4?

Is it a good idea to tell your manager intentions of leaving?

Recently had my review and it didn’t go how I expected. No raise, no promotion. I expressed disappointment but took the criticism I was given to reach my goal in 6 months or a year.

However, there are a number of issues that bother me enough where I want to move on.

The team I am on is small and I know that when I leave, they’ll have a lot on their hands. I only have a couple of interviews scheduled and nothing is solid yet.

Might be a silly question but I’m a working soon-to-be mom, pregnant with our first. My company’s policy is in office, but it’s a pretty casual environment. Looking to see much work maternity clothes I should buy or is reasonable? I’m at 18 weeks and none of my regular pants fit anymore. Any input is appreciated! I’d just like a gauge to see whether I’m going overboard :)

I (36F) am married to another woman (34F) and we have a baby (5moF). We split all childcare, cleaning, meal prep, errands etc fairly evenly and it works well. Maybe she cooks more than I do bc she likes it, and I clean more bc I need to have a clean house. My friend (35F) recently took a business trip and literally put a binder together with instructions for her husband re: daycare drop off and pick up, what to feed the kids, when to take out the trash and so on. I have an extremely difficult 2.5 year old boy. I know this is a difficult toddler age altogether but I think I’m experiencing way worse. There are frequent tantrums in public settings and it’s very embarrassing. We can’t do anything. He’s in daycare and apparently he thrives, so we just don’t get it. Should we wait it out or consult a behavior therapist?

Going back to work Jan 4 and my 3 month old won’t take a bottle. We’ve tried since she was 1.5 months and she just holds the bottle nipple in her mouth but she doesn’t suck.

For now, I’m ok with breastfeeding while working, but just in case with meetings and whatnot, it’d just be awesome if my husband could feed her.

Any advice? Is it possible to get baby on a feeding schedule that I could just put on my Google calendar as “pumping” time?

Is it normal to have let down just on one side? I am 1 week postpartum. On day 4, I had to rush to ER for some@severe pain and was stuck there for 5 hours. During this time I had let down just on my right breast. I assumed the lefy one didn’t have any because I had placed a medella soreness gel pad there. Today again j was sleeping and woke up to feed baby. RealIzed I had let down again only on right side despite more having any gel pad. Is this normal? Should i be worried?
