I live in DC. After COVID lockdown is over I am still never going to any of the Smithsonians.

What is the point of this post, it makes you sound like an entitled jerk who is scoffing at something others would love to have access to. I grew up in DC and we went to museums every chance we got, including summer camps, evening programs, etc. I still go to at least one museum every time I’m visiting family

The Natural History museum is SO different now. Technology has come to the Mall.

No they don’t

Why? I can’t wait to go!! (From Boston

Enjoy! Strongly recommend the portrait gallery. It gets less play than the others, but is awesome. It's in Chinatown which is off the Mall, but grab lunch somewhere and eat in the gallery's atrium. You won't be disappointed.

Grew up there. Never went. Left the area for 10 yrs and started visiting home with a spouse and child in tow. Now we go every time.

Yes, they are great. Yes, I have seen them all. But when you live here long enough, they kinda blend in.

NY here but one of the first things I’m excited to do once they reopen in NY is go back to the museums. I miss them so much. I regret many of the exhibitions I was putting off to see and it pains me so much to know that many smaller ones may have huge hardships afterwards. I fully plan on supporting museums and galleries as much as possible. I can’t say I’m a DC local but I try to go often and love visiting different smithsonian each time. My favorite so far has by far been the Freer Gallery and the Hirshhorn. I can understand where you’re coming from though OP. For me, the absolute last thing I would ever want to do in NY is actually go to a broadway show, just not a fan at all, and couldn’t be bothered spending money to see them vs a beautiful exhibition so your smithsonians are my broadway shows 😂.

I read Smithsonians as "Shenanigans" and my initial reaction was like "why would you?" LOL

Gotta love Admo haha

Just get COVID. It sucks for a week but you don’t have to worry about shit after.

I’m confused what’s going on here, weren’t we talking about museums?

Don’t go or you go who cares what you do OP... !!

If this app isn't for navel gazing though, I don't know what it's for.

Lived in DC for 8 years, went to one of the Smithsonian museums practically every other weekend! There is SO much to see...and it’s all free. I felt incredibly lucky to have this. PS: the Smithsonian also includes the zoo, a few beautiful gardens/parks, the hip coffee shop at the Hirshhorn, movie screenings. So even if you don’t love art, why would you not find something to see/do?

Just told my fairly new bf how much I make and he makes 3 times of how much I’m making right now. I had a big career setback because of covid and my salary hasn’t increased for a while. He cares about money and being rich so much I feel like he might dump me at some point. I won’t be upset if he does because that’s on him, but I feel so insecure about how ridiculously poorly I’m doing in life:(. Just wanted to let it out

Ladies, I need advice. I’m mid-20s and feeling painfully lost. For most of my younger years, my identity was rooted heavily in my friendships and social life. Graduating college and then obviously the pandemic took a toll on that, I moved home and many of my friends left the city I had lived in pre-covid. Flash forward to the world reopening, I don’t like my job, my friends live all over, I have a nonexistent love life, and I don’t know what to do next

I know there has been similar discussion here recently, but how is WSGR PA Corporate's culture? I've been perusing forums and hear really conflicting accounts with some people saying that it's horrible, while others saying it's good. Also, there was talk on people leaving WSGR en masse to other firms (especially Cooly) and WSGR not being in the best place (although that was pre-covid and I guess things might have changed since then). Is it true that WSGR is/was declining?

I just want to hear the explanation for why staff who started during COVID are doing so badly on average (and I have heard this from every level including staff themselves) from the pro 100 percent work from home people. If you agree it’s real, what is your solution? If it can’t be fixed, are we just accepting that the people we expect to backfill our positions aren’t going to be ready?

I’m only 1 year in post-MBA and wondering if I should stick it out at least another year at D or take an offer from Amazon to go be a Senior Product Manager (their post-mba role). Comp is about the same since no raises or big bonuses from D this year. Downside is I’d have to pay back partial signing bonus. Think I might enjoy the product role more just because I like owning things and my year at D so far has felt somewhat “fluffy” and disjointed in terms of experience. Any advice from fellow 🐠?
