Hi all, I started this project 2 years ago called Wise Charlie (www.wisecharlie.com) which focuses on mental models and critical thinking.
In 2017/2018, I was contemplating going to grad school or starting a project. I decided on the latter. After not really doing much, I picked up on it this summer due to Covid. I now have 100+ customers and a few hundred newsletter subscribers. It’s been rewarding so far and have improved my own thinking.
Happy to answer any questions.

What is the point of this post, it makes you sound like an entitled jerk who is scoffing at something others would love to have access to.
I grew up in DC and we went to museums every chance we got, including summer camps, evening programs, etc. I still go to at least one museum every time I’m visiting family
The Natural History museum is SO different now. Technology has come to the Mall.
No they don’t

Enjoy!
Strongly recommend the portrait gallery. It gets less play than the others, but is awesome. It's in Chinatown which is off the Mall, but grab lunch somewhere and eat in the gallery's atrium. You won't be disappointed.

Grew up there. Never went. Left the area for 10 yrs and started visiting home with a spouse and child in tow. Now we go every time.

Yes, they are great. Yes, I have seen them all.
But when you live here long enough, they kinda blend in.
Jazz in the garden though
NY here but one of the first things I’m excited to do once they reopen in NY is go back to the museums. I miss them so much. I regret many of the exhibitions I was putting off to see and it pains me so much to know that many smaller ones may have huge hardships afterwards. I fully plan on supporting museums and galleries as much as possible.
I can’t say I’m a DC local but I try to go often and love visiting different smithsonian each time. My favorite so far has by far been the Freer Gallery and the Hirshhorn. I can understand where you’re coming from though OP. For me, the absolute last thing I would ever want to do in NY is actually go to a broadway show, just not a fan at all, and couldn’t be bothered spending money to see them vs a beautiful exhibition so your smithsonians are my broadway shows 😂.
I read Smithsonians as "Shenanigans" and my initial reaction was like "why would you?" LOL
Gotta love Admo haha

Just get COVID. It sucks for a week but you don’t have to worry about shit after.

I’m confused what’s going on here, weren’t we talking about museums?

Lived in DC for 8 years, went to one of the Smithsonian museums practically every other weekend! There is SO much to see...and it’s all free. I felt incredibly lucky to have this. PS: the Smithsonian also includes the zoo, a few beautiful gardens/parks, the hip coffee shop at the Hirshhorn, movie screenings. So even if you don’t love art, why would you not find something to see/do?
