I lost 2 of my best friends last year; one from covid and one from just falling apart. Feeling pretty lost and lonely lately. Any advice to meeting people?

I’m sorry for your loss! I’ll be praying for you. Meeting new people is rough rn but maybe get involved in Facebook groups and forums with people whom you share an interest with. I’m in a travel group on FB and we do weekly postcard exchanges 😊

Maybe try BumbleBFF to make new friends?

I'm sorry for your loss. This is an extraordinary time and it is very normal to feel alone and isolated.

You could try the Vina app? It’s for meeting friends in your area and I’ve had some luck...if you’re in ATL message me! Haha

I honestly don’t know how I would handle this situation. So sorry for your loss.

I moved to a city this year where I knew no one and I have been able (even with the safety measures in place) go to theology on taps, recreational league games, and hikes. I’ve only made surface level friends for the most part, but I am never very bored.

In my old city I was part of a tight knit book club and I felt we were closer friends even though we had little in common. You may be able to find one through Facebook or Meetup.

Again- so sorry - I can’t imagine how isolating or hard that is. Hugs🫂

I’m so sorry for your losses. I worry about my best friend sometimes falling apart.
What are your hobbies? There is meet up app.
I am religious and found friends through church groups.
I enjoy skiing so I met up with some people skiing. That was pre covid tho. Not sure what your comfort level is now with covid.

While most teachers are protected by teacher unions, I feel my voice hasn’t been heard at all with my concerns of going back to school next week. Our diocese has decided on full return 5 days/ week for all 42 schools despite a recent increase in COVID in our communities. Every other school that I know of in my state is either choosing remote learning to start the year or a hybrid approach, yet that was not an option for us. Are other Catholic schools I. The same boat? Stay safe!

First time Dad and my 15 month old keeps running up the stairs at my in-laws place and they keep encouraging it. Stairs are almost 10 inches high with nothing underneath and I’m worried that he might slip and fall in between the stairs. My FIL is a bit of a know-it-all and keeps insisting it’s safe and I don’t agree. What do I do? Don’t want to fight the entire house full of people about this and kid enjoys it too much and cries a lot if I/we prevent him from climbing

Supply Chain shortages were supposed to be "temporary" because of COVID. Then they were "temporary" because of the war. Now they're "temporary" because of the infllation. Do you really think we will go back to normal or this is definitely the "new normal"?

It’s my birthday in a few minutes. 2021 has been a terrible year for me. My marriage ended. It wasn’t a bad end though. We are still close, just not romantic partners anymore. The very first dog I ever had died and I couldn’t go see her because of the quarantine. I didn’t get a promotion that I more than deserved. I don’t think I get paid well. Most of my friends moved out of the city and I’m having to meet new people at 32. I love my job but it’s incredibly stressful. I’m terribly lonely.

Confused if parents want schools to reopen or not? I read so many posts here about how difficult it is to work full time and manage kids’ at-home schooling (I can’t even imagine!) so would assume that means parents want to reopen, but at the same time keep seeing a ton of backlash from parents in states who are pushing to reopen due to safety reasons. What’s the general consensus?

I am heartbroken - I ended a 6 month situationship with a guy that I met on a matrimonial app. He was not happy with my income($70k - 95k), company (consulting firm) and visa status (F1-OPT with one more attempt left for H1B visa). He wants to marry a woman working for a big tech firm and earning more than $100k/year with a stable visa. (Though he has I-140)
I was constantly working hard to get a better job. He was not satisfied with my efforts - he wanted results. Was break-up a right decision?

I will be closing on my first home in March 2021 and started researching on mortgage. Is there any recommended website that says what today’s exact mortgage rate is ?. All websites I checked has APR’s banks would offer. Essentially I’m trying to find what possible range I could end up with my score of ~750. Also, should I shop for mortgage and PMI separately to get lesser PMI. Paying down 5% off $465k home, makes PMI as $341 per initial estimates i was offered. Looking for some guidance. Thanks

Is there an easy/efficient way to figure out how much you've contributed to vs earned in your Roth accounts? I started contributing >20 years ago to my employer's Roth 401k and have rolled it over to a Roth IRA and moved it between multiple custodians, e.g. Fidelity, Vanguard, UBS, Personal Capital, etc. It is unclear to me how much I contributed vs how much I earned by investing it.

The purpose of doing this is I want to use $10K of it, but want to prove that the $10K is from my contribution.
