Has anyone here used the "Read Scripture" app? It goes through the entire Bible and includes accompanying summary videos from "The Bible Project" (whose videos can also be found on YouTube). I love how it groups portions of Scripture and the videos are helpful for making meaningful connections with the text. I love these for myself, but they're super kid-friendly, too. Excellent support for your daily study. Enjoy!
Curious if there are any single parents that have more than 1 kid? Tempted to try for number 2 but being a single mom of more than 1 kid is scaring the $hit out of me.
Do you accept parent requests on social media (Facebook, Instagram, etc...) what have your experiences been like and does your district have rules about it?
Going back to work in a month after a pretty lengthy maternity leave. Discussed with my boss returning at 80% with Fridays off... she was totally fine with that, but is it even realistic in Big 4?
Dads with older children: while raising your children, did your children prefer their moms over you? I know some will prefer dads over moms, but I assume majority of children out there will prefer their moms over dads… I have one child and it kinda hurts to see my child always preferring the mom over me. I know I shouldn’t feel this way, but I just do. How did you cope with such issue raising your children?
Started as a baby legal assistant about ten years ago at a transactional firm - now the majority (seven years) of my experience is in litigation. I am wanting to move more toward transactional or in-house now. Am I basically starting completely over? I am well respected and sought-out in litigation, but I'm unsure of how to market myself in the direction I want to go with as much confidence. Has anyone successfully made this move?
Planning to move to Seattle, WA early next year with my H1. I know it's a great opportunity, but at the same time my worry is to leave my mom alone here at home. (Dad is no more and I'm a only child) I know once if she gets her B2 visa, I can take her there with me for 5-6 and then she has to be here for 3-4 months here in India. Theoretical it's feasible, but how much it's practically possible ? I know many might experienced this. Please advise
Anyone have tips on culturally relevant (read Black) parent podcasts or parent preparation programs? I’m looking for something similar to New Mom Boss but for us
Hi Moms- Curious to get a sense of what your different parental leave policies look like and how you have liked them. My company gave 12 weeks paid and I felt it was woefully short for my first. Before having my second, I'm interested in pushing my company to increase the time and am curious to hear what other companies offer. Beyond just the time, was your company flexible? Is it the same for all parents? Did it feel like enough? Thank you!
Hi, contemplating a bcg expert track PL role after 5 years of ops consulting. Any perspectives on the career trajectory on the expert track vs generalist track? Are the expert track folks really given a 'step child' treatment? Any thoughts on potential exit opportunities?
Government agency attorney (child welfare) with 20 years of litigation experience. With that said, I am looking to relocate to the DMV and practice in a non-litigation role. Any tips re: where to start?
Our 5 month old started daycare about 5 weeks ago. We’ve already had to keep her home for 2.5 of those 5 weeks due to catching various illnesses (croup, rsv, brinchiolitis, etc). Both my wife and I have been sick most of that time as well (gotten it from the baby). Wife is thinking we get a full time nanny for the next 4 months to help the baby build antibodies. Cost aside, is this feasible / worthwhile to go thru the effort / finding the right fit, only for 4 months?
I had my first baby and now work 75%. I'm trying to decide whether to go back full time. I'm happier now, but my husband's in school for 3 more years, and my paycheck doesn't cover our bills. Wwyd?

Baby furniture. What is everyone doing? FTM and trying to figure out if it’s worth investing in very expensive nursery furniture. We were looking at the Natart furniture collection and the Silva collections. These both come in at about $2000-$2400. The furniture is high quality and grows with the child. Alternatively I could go the lower end route at get everything for like $800. Is that wise? I hear horror stories about low quality and paint chipping from the baby teething on the crib.
Any piano bars in Seattle?
Is it worth getting a masters if you’re already a mid-level professional doing good in your field? Currently a SA with 7 years of work experience and contemplating going back for MS-IT but not sure if the student loan is worth it. Please advise. Thanks in advance!
Anyone going/been to therapy? I feel like I haven’t been happy in a long time. I don’t think my case falls under depression diagnosis, but… not 100% sure. I just feel like i live someone else’s life. Regret so many of my choices. And even though I am (relatively) healthy, have a husband and kids, we live a fairly comfortable life, sometimes I feel absolutely miserable. I guess what I’m leading to is this - can therapy help?
