I was there earlier this month on a Saturday. Honestly, it was awful - incredibly packed and people were shoulder to shoulder. You couldn’t see anything. My advice is to go on a weekday (not Friday). Many of the exhibits are also pretty dated - a lot hadn’t changed since I was there 15 years earlier.

I haven’t been since around 2012 because it was so disappointing. It’s sad because I went there all the time as a kid and it was amazing. I hope it’s getting better!
I have to ask why an insanely hot summer day seems like a day to do something

D1 yes but it's pretty logical that thousands of other people in your area will make the same decision
I loved it! I recommend it! When you’re done, checkout the harbor and maybe walk to BMore Licks in Federal Hill to cool down. I loved the jellyfish exhibit
Here’s a hint go later in the day. I think it’s cheaper after 5 and less kids.
Also check out the science center. One night a month they open up their telescopes to the public. No entrance fee. We had a blast. This was precovid. Could be different now.

Air and Space used do a monthly telescope night too. I don’t know if it’s back from covid, but I’ve always wanted to go!
It’s good but definitely go at an off peak time
