I love most of my job, but I don’t see a very good path of progression where I am. I love traveling but with a wife and baby at home I can’t travel a ton, I committed to 50% as a non client facing team, leadership roles are only opening on client facing/traveling teams.

1: So I applied to a Y Combinator-backed startup that just closed a $3m seed round and is hiring a CMO. 5 people work there. The job description put an emphasis on finding an out-of-the-box thinker with an eye for design. So after the first round was scheduled, I sent a cover letter style email to my interviewer the day before. He responded in the interview at the beginning by saying: (continued in comments)
Hi All - I have created a bowl for those who want to know more about their potential new firm and role - ask anonymously and hopefully someone within the firm will respond! Or we can help find the right person for you! See you there!
I am an only child. My dad is dying from cancer and has a month or two left. I have never been close with my mom (untreated mood disorder is my dad’s guess), but we’ve slowly tried to mend our relationship recently. Lately, she’s been resorting to guilt trips, accusatory language, and erratic behavior if I am not there. My dad is concerned she has lost it. I am split between no contact and trying to help, but this is taking a mental toll. Has anyone cut off their family members before?
Hey everyone! I’m a new grad with an offer for a sales engineer position and I wanted to know if any one in this bowl has transitioned out of sales/solutions engineering into another role or industry? I just want to see what opportunities would be available to me after a year or two as a SE just in case I decide I want a career change.

I fell asleep on the plane from DCA > CLT today and had a dream that American Airlines instituted a new policy where the entire flight is just a nonstop ad for their rewards credit card, and they stop announcing it only if 50% of passengers completed an application.
Not work related. Married life related. My husband and I have lost our bond ever since we’ve had a kid. Our whole life revolves around our kid and when the kid is busy or asleep, we don’t spend any quality time together. He spends his free time on his phone, literally has nothing to talk about with me and when I ask him what’s up, he’s literally forcing himself to pretend to be interested in spending time together. We used to be best friends and now it’s just a parenting together. See comments.

Is it true that the best way to increase your salary is to switch employers every 3 years? I have been with the same company 3 years and have seen people hired after me hired making almost as much as I do (hired to my previous position, but still in my department) even after I was promoted! I was thankful for my increase with my promotion when it happened in March, but now I’m realizing that I’m only making $1 more than two of my successors, who apparently were hired on at higher rates than me!
Any opening for fresher in your company ? Please me know as I am looking for my cousin .

Can anyone describe Amazon’s culture for an associate corporate counsel, based on team? I’ve read a number of comments on this app and across the internet about the company in general but the individuals never specify what team they’re referring to. I’ve heard from two corp counsel that AWS doesn’t have the best WLB but Prime Video does. I’d be interested to hear what this bowl has to add. The more data points I can gather before interviewing, the better.

My previous company’s discount code is still showing up for Hertz rentals, which includes the damage and liability coverage. Does anyone know if something were to happen to the car if they’d be able to figure out that I don’t work for that company anymore? This is a leisure trip and the cost difference is about $200 with the discount code, so want to use it but don’t want to be screwed later.

Good evening Everyone, I have been a PSR for 10 years with the same company, but worked for 5 different practices. Was looking to move up in our company but from what I’m understanding, we have to have a degree in management. How would I go about trying to move up in and out of my position without a degree?
I’ve been helping couples navigate the challenges of infertility for over 20 years now. Recently, I’ve noticed more couples feeling apprehensive to continue treatment because they are worried about potential repercussions if they miscarry during the IVF process. Honestly, I’m not sure how to reassure them because I also feel afraid, but I just want to continue supporting these wonderful couples & families. I would be heartbroken if they ended up suffering more because of their treatments. I’m just feeling so conflicted & sad today after meeting with a couple who decided to postpone treatment.
Recently had an interview. Asked for a base salary that is $50k more a year than I currently make + bonuses based on performance. Recruiter said I was right on target with what they were looking to pay for the position and he felt like I’d be great for the role. Know your worth!!

But none of the jobs I’m interested in require CCS. They want someone that is familiar with data using excel tableau etc I know these things but I have not worked in a role. I guess my question is should I past this CCS exam then focus on trying to get experience as a data analysts or forget about the CCS?
