I’ve recently been promoted to an Art Director’s title from being a Designer. However, I haven’t received a change in pay and was told that I will have to wait until I reach 1 year with company in the fall/winter cycle to receive the raise that comes with the title change. I currently make 63k with about 3 years of experience. What should I expect in my salary for this promotion to becoming an art director (from a designer)?

I was invited to a family party for the 4th which will also double to celebrate my birthday and my younger brothers birthday. I was told to bring my own birthday cake 😐 I’m bringing either a solo cupcake or cake the says “Happy Birthday to our favorite child”

Just going to whinge a bit because I've got no one to talk to. My parents have always been terrible with money. As a kid, when I couldn't help, my mom just beat me, so I learned to get useful quick. Since I was 12, I've worked to help support my family. I feel like I've lost my youth. Sometimes I want to just walk, but that'll leave my siblings holding the bag. They're much younger, so they never saw my mom at her worst. She's pretty normal when times are good.

My biggest fear is being trapped in a small room with Santa.

I feel like your partner/significant other is supposed to be that person you can confide in and feel comfortable enough to tell them anything and you know, just get that feeling that they can be there for you when you feel down. I don’t get that feeling with who I’m with. I mean..I guess it all comes down the fact that you’re on your own through everything. But damn..it sure is a lonely feeling sometimes.

Feeling so uneasy with all the layoffs and my company had a leaked memo from the ceo saying there may be cuts but didn’t mention which departments (very large company)
My question is when they decide to lay people off do they just axe the whole team or do they look at performance, pay, etc of each employee? Sorry if it’s a stupid question.
