I love the taste of coffee, but I feel like my consumption goes up, up, up then mixed with the stress of my job i get anxiety and I burn myself out. I also feel like I need it to handle the long hours required in my job. I quit for 9 months last year but always go back to it. Any tips for how to maintain some sort of balance or cut it out for good? I read in the decaf sub Reddit and they act like it’s awful for you but I don’t know how I feel about that.

Do more cardio, especially in the morning and drink lots of water. You can always supplement with a couple caffeine pills if necessary. One cup a day is plenty ok!

You just need to stop consuming caffeine. Drink water and exercise regularly. You will go through withdrawal and feel crappy at first but then it will get better. I never drink caffeine and am able to work long hours.

If you are a fan of the taste switch it out with things like tea with a splash of milk, have coconut water or BCAAs which have electrolytes which will help sustain your energy levels for longer periods of time. Hydrate hydrate hydrate (but not with super sugary drinks). Stick to whole meals and meals that won’t spike up your insulin levels, so you don’t crash later in the day.

Would you say summaries are as effective for self help books like "the subtle art of giving a fk" and other similar books? I feel the books themselves ramble on too much on a side story only to tell a point that could be summed up in a couple sentences.

I might have a spending problem. I don’t think (?) Ugh, I am four business days past my loop interview and tomorrow is five, which is their maximum number of days they said they would take to make a decision. I only have about 60 hours left on my contract with them and after proving I can be a great asset to this company, I’m wondering how to negotiate salary from this point. Don’t know if this is the right place to post this, but felt the need to say: life is so fleeting. We spend so much time focusing on the day to day and hour to hour that we forget that it could all be over for us in a second.

I want to lose 20 pounds (M 165). I put together a diet that has me at 3500 calorie deficit per week for roughly 1 pound per week loss. On top of this I am going to the gym twice per week for heavy lifting + 10 min cardio. Do you think I will see results with going to the gym twice a week? It’s hard for me to find time to go more often but I want to tone up while also doing my cut. I am going to try to also incorporate yoga twice a week into this. Thanks!
