Big plus IF other people actually find you funny. If they don’t, big minus.
This. Jokes are about the listener's enjoyment, not the teller's
I actually don’t trust coworkers that have no sense of humor or take themselves waaay to seriously.

Yes
Have someone on my team who loves telling jokes, but nobody finds him funny, so it’s just awkward silence when he tells joke
Sounds like this director on a call Friday.

I joke a lot. But I have a morbidly dry and sarcastic sense of humor so a lot of times it catches people off guard. Obv I don't joke during super serious meetings but a funny, clever, witty remark here or there breaks the ice and makes you come across as more reachable. It helps also that you're good at what you do and are a decent person. The funny + smart + decent combo is key
Read Indyk’s biography of Kissinger while he was negotiating with Sadat, Meir, Rabin, and Assad. Part of the reason he was able to keep things going was because he kept his counterparts laughing their heads off.

I’ve been doing this far too long. Thankfully not working Mondays these days lol.
Funny, laughable, jokester? Not that important.
Friendly, engaging, making people feel they are at the center of the universe? Very important.
There’s a big difference.
Are you funny like Cousin Greg or more like Roman?
Generally a plus, and I’m the same way. Although I’d say just be mindful of the time, place, and your audience.
Definitely a plus, but you need a filter. I approach it as “I don’t want to be a robot, but also still need to be professional”. And certainly need to read the room

Humor is great. Makes work more enjoyable. But like most things it has to resonate and be appropriate for the timing/setting/audience. If it doesn’t or isn’t, you won’t be doing yourself any favors.
What if some people ain’t funny lol. They listen and talk but can’t be humorous
