Let’s get it! I’m holding extra cash for various reasons right now but looking to pull the trigger on a black bay 36 early next year.
I love JLC for dress watches. The Reverso is a classic, and just about everything in the Master line is beautiful. This would be my pick: https://www.jaeger-lecoultre.com/us/en/watches/master/master-calendar/4148420.html
It’s a bit more versatile than most of the line, I think.
Yes - this could be it… thank you

Start with your use case. What would you wear it with - just business clothes, or do you want something that you can rock on the weekend as well? Seems like you’re looking closely at dress pieces, which won’t be quite as versatile as some of the other options - that may or may not bother you since it depends when and how you want to wear it.
I generally recommend that people start with something that’s more versatile and then get into more specialized areas like a dedicated dress watch, but most people don’t wear business formal attire all that often these days.
Another thing to note: from personal experience, I’ve found that if you’re buying a watch because it looks like the watch you really want (read: a GO instead of an ALS), you’re more likely to look at your wrist and think about what you’d rather be wearing than to appreciate the choice you actually made. Cheaper to not settle.
You're a principal. What are you doing just do it!
Fine - I’d do it - but where to start?
JLC, Vacheron, or Glashütte in my humble opinion. But also think are you a steel watch guy/ tool watch guy or a precious metal/ dress watch guy
