If you are starting as an Audit Associate some time from now with Deloitte or any of the big 4, do they expect you to have passed/completed all 4 parts by the time you start? Received the Becker Reimbursement email from the recruiter not too long ago but have yet to start. Iāve seen plenty of people get to Senior at a big 4 firm without the CPA so I am a bit confused in that aspect. Any helpful feedback will be very much appreciated.

āPeople who birthā šš¤¢š¤®
Right?! Smh.
So you don't want people to be able to take time off to take care of a newborn? I don't plan on having kids, but truly hope people can take the time they need, because they will need it. Having a newborn is so much, physically and emotionally. And if you had the primary care giver come back to work right after having a kid I can guarantee they will not be working at 100% anyways if you are that concerned with having to pick up the slack, you still would.
100% agree with your suggestion, OP.
Ngl, your āIt doesnāt affect me personally so I donāt care about itā stance is kind of lame (and is just a lame position to take about ANYTHING). Iām shocked your friend was so polite about it. Iām as CF as it comes (I donāt even like kids) but I want my friends and colleagues to have meaningful family leave policies. I also believe that better / more flexible family leave policies will improve the lives of sooo many women, even those without kids like myself.
But āit doesnāt affect meā is basically what HEās saying!
I get that family leave helps women. But I would die on the spot if a woman with kids ever stood up to advocate for my need to take time off when I have to, say, move by myself... much less stick up for retirement or other policies that benefit people who chose a different lifestyle than she did. Never going to happen!
To be fair, OPās never said that they didnāt support family leave policies. Being ambivalence just means they see pros and cons. And objectively, there are pros and cons to every policy.

I agree - OP isn't arguing against these policies existing because that's not what being ambivalent means. Having mixed feelings about it makes sense because there are pros and cons to the policies and how they affect the company and individual employees.

OP it might be helpful to clarify your frustration on this response. I would be offended at the āconvertā statement myself if what the other person is saying is that theyāll convince you to have kids. But I have no issues with others taking leave if they do have kids
