5% salary increase, 30% work increase. Not a big win for them, but that’s business
Considering my job responsibilities I’ve accumulated over 9 years, this sounds about right.
I found it was funny but only because I'm laughing at the pettiness of that manager. I could see it being genuinely funny IF you all had that sort of relationship but I'm guessing not?
Well if you didn't know it was a good move to leave this should prove it.
He failed to mention the added work because you are leaving too I bet.
Said with humor? Our teams joke like this constantly. We also immediately tell someone they are dead to us once they announce departure. It is all said in jest and with affection.
Then your manager just gave you the gift of validating your choice to leave. Sorry to hear.
If your boss learned of your decision during a team meeting, then you sound unprofessional as well.
Your former boss is awful
Wow. Unprofessional of them to do as well.
Ouch. Sounds like you work at a GroupM company.
Toxic human. How do so many people with retaliatory attitudes get into management? It’s such poor leadership. Congratulations on getting out.
Unfortunately, a lot of these people (assholes) got in their positions by manipulating things or situations.
Well if any of them want a better job our agency is hiring!! thevariable.com/careers
They will get theirs. Also tells the rest of their team what they are seen as and how they can be expected to be treated.
Ouch 🤕

You are better off without being exposed to an A-hole like that anyways! Unless, he has a sarcastic sense of humor.... in which case, he NAILED that joke!!! I don't know the guy, but on the surface it feels like a low blow.
She* is an expert at backhanded digs & I wish it was the only one! Counting down to my official last day. 🎉
Your boss sounds fun.
I would have gone with, “This means we can finally afford a new photocopier.” 😂 Seriously though, I agree with the sentiment above that you’re obviously making the right move. Good luck!
What’s a ”photocopier” and who needs one?! 🤣🤣🤣
🤢🤮
The team needs to thank you
Did you tell your boss in advance? If not, also poor handling on your part.
Yes, of course. Separate conversation. I was asked to make the announcement during a team meeting.
