I manage a Salesforce Engineering team and looking for the next level position. I have applied for job postings on LinkedIn but not getting any response. Should I be thinking of making a lateral move instead? Any suggestions? Thanks in advance

Very boys club around here & and never get recognized. I started as a receptionist, moved to executive assistant now, operations manager for a little over a year. I started with being in charge of 3employees & now I am at 11.I was at $46k then got bumped up to $52k before hiring 8 new employees. Looking for advice on what to do/pay.

What does it even mean now to work “in tech”. I feel like people are over romanticizing the “in tech” part to mean working any job in a tech company or the IT department of a company, when I think it should be more towards people in product, design, engineering, and maybe corporate strategy, etc. I’m not trying to gatekeep anyone, but I feel like this is problematic because it bleeds into stuff like “the prestige working in FAANG” but one is in a non-tech role or lower requirement role.

Additional Posts in Career Pivot

I have been in retail since ‘03 and I have not reached any of my career goals and I feel completely stunted in my personal growth. I love the company I work for, but there’s no real opportunity for me past SM for a low volume store. Problem is I have no idea what I want to do with my life. I have pretty bad ADD so retail has been good for me because I can’t sit behind a desk. I also don’t want to do Sales jobs either. Are there any tools out there I can use to help me figure out my next steps?

I am just between a career pivot and I need some advice. I graduated in Biochemistry near the top of my class with an expectation to go into medicine so I had been working in clinical research. I need career advice. I have been an office admin for 7 years and want to pivot into project management. I have experience leading small projects. But I have limited experience handling complex projects involving many people. My long-term plan is to complete a PM cert program and hopefully find an entry-level position. However, my immediate need is to find a new job, ideally, one that would offer the opportunity to gain more project experience. Any suggestions?

Currently work as an Ops Manager for Amazon and interviewing for a few roles - internally as project manager non-tech and externally as Management Consultant at a top firm. I genuinely do think I'd find the work as MC engaging, less certain about the PM one.

Debating if it's worth while to take the consulting gig if end objective (5 year plan) is a remote job that I find engaging.

Would appreciate thoughts from people in similar situations and how you navigated it.

Hi All,

I have recently moved into a new role in the same organisation(hiring manager literally persuaded me to join) and 8 months into it. I am literally regretting:

1) Everyone is overworked, manager pings at 10 PM his time

2) Under the garb of policy, they are denying me remote work to take care of pressing health issues

Now, I have an opportunity to go back to the old role and pace myself at work to resolve all issues

Please enlighten on how to hand this scenario
