I moved from IT external audit to industry. I have enough time in hand to learn /explore something new. Looking for suggestions that are realistic and will present opportunities to do something different.

Business and operational controls would be the easiest switch

To escape from engineers who never respond and don't give a shit about compliance. That's the root problem of IT compliance. At least on the business side you will learn how the company operates

I was talking about something different like - cloud , cyber sec , D&A, blockchain

OP, would you be open to a quick chat?? Trying to make s similar move but having a difficult time for some reason.

Sure.. dm me.

What do you think are the pros and cons of working at a large insurance company vs. a small one? Considering a jump from big (been with a few carriers for ~15 years) to much smaller but growing.

I work in Group Insurance if that makes a difference.
