You’re probably selling yourself short that you wouldn’t be able to “stretch” and “succeed” in this new role from 9-5. I bet you would! That’s fair though about previously agreeing to prioritize your husbands job right now so I think that’s the question.. can you accomplish the learning curve within reasonable work hours. You don’t have no. 2 yet so it seems like perfect timing to me honestly.

Agreed - you can always back away from more responsibility if needed. Who knows how long it will take to get pregnant? (It took me way longer to get pregnant with my second, so you never know.) You can accept this promotion also knowing that if you need to back away to prioritize your husband’s career that way, you can.
I think it is easier to reduce your role if you later feel it is too much for you, than to get more responsibility and respect when there is no spot available to give it.
Don't sell yourself short!

In the long run I think the new role would provide good WLB but in the short term (next year to year and a half) it will be a steep learning curve. Just sense checking here that it is not crazy to want to take on a stretch role at this time. Also… my husband wants to switch jobs and we did promise that we prioritize this next move for him as he was taking a backseat for a moment while things settled for me in my new role. Ugh… I don’t know if I am biting off too much for my family.
You absolutely got this, *if* you want it! 💖
We ALWAYS sell ourselves short. We need to stop doing this and need to remind and encourage other women to take these risks, again if you decide this is something you want.
I also believe that we shouldn’t change our life in hopes of a pregnancy. Pregnancy doesn’t always happen in the time frame that ‘we’ want, despite being fertile mertile!
