I need a reality check. SO and I make combined ~250k yearly. Can we afford to buy a 1 bedroom in a nice neighbourhood in Brooklyn?

Have you tried looking at price ranges in your desired area on streeteasy or Zillow? You can then see what kind of apt or area you can get for the monthly payment you can afford to pay, assuming you have some cash for down payment. Personally I think yes.

Definitely - in Park Slope right now, absolutely are options all along the price spectrum

I make 155k combined, can definitely buy 1bed in Brooklyn for 800-1M

Do you fully own that place? If you do and don’t want to sell it, then I’d say the multiplier is the same. If you have significant cash flow then maybe slightly higher multiple. If you are still paying monthly expenses on it then lower multiplier.

Yes, absolutely. Are you familiar with the different neighborhoods?

I came from consulting, the WLB at google proserv is better but not substantially than previous consulting jobs, and in all reality to reach this TC at google it’ll be another 3 (maybe 4 ) years. Thoughts?
