Any other staff feeling like they might try to leave audit earlier than they planned to? Love my firm, but WFH is brutal and the people I’ve formed connections with have mostly left or WFH 99% of the time which leads to less social interaction with them. I figured I’d stick it out for 3 years or so, but with another busy season looming in a few months I’ve started looking at other roles through my network, and wasn’t sure if I was the only one.
Anyone get reverse jet lag? I've been flying Mon-Thursday coast to coast for the past 3 years.. that when I get the random WFH week, my sleep schedule is totally screwed up more than normal.
How long do you think it’d take to “explore” Chicago? Have opportunity to work remote from US and would love to travel from city to city maybe every year or every 6 months and wondering if a year is enough time to get a good experience out of Chicago
Hey Microsoft 🐠 what’s the thinking around remote work going forward? I don’t live in WA or Charlotte, is that an issue?
Anyone else really pack on the pounds during work from home? I really blew up - probably gained 40-45 pounds. I feel so bloated and sluggish all the time and none of my clothes fit anymore. I hope I’m not alone.
Anyone here work BlackRock ? How have you liked it? Are y’all remote? What are the benefits like? What are average raises and bonuses like?
9/25/2021 - Job Hunt Assistance Alright folks, let's try this again. WFH is on the rise, people do and don't want a RTO. On 4/18/2020 I did a job search help forum situation thing, and I want to try it again. This week, add the information requested in the first comment as a separate comment. Next weekend, I will actively look for jobs for you and DM you the things that I find. You have to do the hard part - cover letters, applying, interviews, salary conversaions...etc... cont.
How are people "networking" now that we are wfh? I mean, you are barely even aware if people still work in the same company. Previously, you at least saw them every now and then at the office but now... They could have fired half the company and I wouldn't know
Does anyone have a SO who doesn’t quite get the whole remote work thing? My SO sees nice weather outside and wants to leave in the middle of the day to grill or get outside, and gets frustrated when I say I need to stay on the computer. I don’t have crazy amounts of work, but I do have a manager who needs to know the hours I work every day. Does anyone else have a partner like this? If so, what do you tell them?
How has your WFH experience during the pandemic impacted (or not) your sense of loyalty / willingness to sacrifice for: - your team - your client - your firm
How hard is it to lateral to BigLaw from a mid size if I didn’t go to a T14? In the Sac area and looking to lateral to the Bay/Silicon Valley and do either full remote or hybrid
👋🏼 A little WFH cuteness
Anyone know of any agencies open to a fully remote copywriter (East Coast, USA, if that matters, but I’m not fussy)? I'm struggling to get back into the real agency world after some time in small-market purgatory. Also, if there are any CDs willing to check out my book and give me an honest assessment on whether they think it's good enough to get a job with, it would be much appreciated. Can DM anyone willing to have a look.
I just separated from my husband and will be filing for divorce this week. I have removed myself from the home. Should I tell my job I’m going through a divorce? I do work from home and it’s possible I may have to take a few days off to regroup.
How long can you do the weekly travel before you need a break? I just hit 20 weeks including lots of Fridays at the client and weekend trips and wondering if it’s unreasonable to ask for a remote week
Atlanta - What firms are/are not allowing partial WFH on a permanent basis going forward?
What are people’s thoughts on the future of WFH within consulting in London? Hybrid Model / Full WFH / Back in the office or client site full time?
I live alone and have loved the time not traveling but WFH has really started getting to me the past few weeks. On top of that, I got a series of bad news this week that really took a toll on my mental health (one has affected my ability to visit family), and I’ve never felt this alone in my life. I miss having an office to go to and see others in. Even started skipping workouts & cooking, both of which I love. Could use hugs and inspiration to get past this hump
If you get fired from Deloitte (or similar), what would they say in a background check? Would they say “would not rehire” or something like that? Anyone have any issues with this?
Have the CSR, if I downgrade to the preferred, do I lose the UR travel redemption value (1point ~ 1.5c)? Is redemption value specific to a card? How does UR value work if you have multiple cards?
First year SC at the D federal in enterprise ops - base salary is 90k with MBA, am I getting screwed on comp? I feel like I am.
After second round of interview, the recruiter said we are in holding pattern and there is some delay. What does a "holding pattern" in recruiting process at EY mean?
This bowl: USA vs non USA I enjoy a lot of threads in this bowl, but equally a hell of a lot are US specific, and pharma advertising just doesn't work in the same way anywhere else in the world. Would love to know what proportion of the active bowl users are based inside vs outside of the USA? Should threads always have country/city tags where relevant? Edit for clarity, it's not just DTC vs HCP, it's also queries like who's hiring, who's doing good work, process, workload, holidays, etc.
Has anyone interviewed for the Amazon Customer Practice Manager role? Are the interview questions and progression similar to the other Amazon roles? I am not seeing much out there on this specific job.
Do any of the top consulting firms have analytics roles (preferably not super technical) that don’t require weekly travel?
I am seasoned FA ... been licensed in the insurance and financial industry since 2004. I was forced to resign from a salaried position and looking for anything until I get hired on another firm.
First time apartment renter in San Francisco Peninsula here: Do I buy or rent my furniture?
Kind of regret going into accounting/audit lol. Was anyone else told “accounting can do finance but finance can’t do accounting.” I was under the impression that transitioning to finance would be easy, but all the exit ops I see are senior accountant, internal audit, accounting advisory, etc.
I was laid off from a resource management role, working with employees approaching or on the bench, working with managers to staff projects, and support functions like report creation, scheduling, etc. Roles like this are few and many large consulting firms have frozen internal hiring. Do you think it would be beneficial to get a SHRM cert? Would that help get a "talent related" HR role? Worth the money? I have a background in recruitment as well.
What are some of your favorite classroom organization supplies? (Bins, pencil holders, etc.)
*Finishes engagement one week early with no more travel required before year end* "This is awesome!" *Looks at Marriott app* "NOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!"
When it comes to recruiting, is it good for the industry when the first word out of HR is "diversity" and not "talent?"
which one of you going off on travel day...
Hi. I have H1b valid until Nov 2018. Petition ammendment/extension filed and received RFE. If worst case scenario and it gets denied, can I apply / switch to L1a? If yes, what's the processing time?
What are peoples thoughts on two different career paths within public accounting. One is the typical longer hours like 55 hours or more during busy season and the other one is 40 hours a week all year long with a reduced salary, almost like a reduced schedule employee. The reduced hour career path allows you to enjoy whatever you enjoy about public without the long hours but your career progression will be similar to industry and the other path is pretty much what it is now. Thoughts?
About had it with my teams VP, didn't come to work and called in sorta sick today, didn't check email once. $20 says I actually still have a job....?
