McKinsey people a few weeks ago: “Sorry, I can’t refer you because it would dilute my network quality and I won’t even take the time to get to know you.” McKinsey people now: “Take my referral and apply now!” What a difference $5k makes.

Today, I got a call from Delloite India and HR says that she can only give 30% even though I have mentioned the current offer with 70% hike on my current CTC. HR instinct is that I should be ok with lower CTC part since the offer is from Delloite. Obviously I am interested to work for Big4 but does it really worth it? Would like to know your take on this? The position is for Data Engineer role.

How far have you taken “Fake it till you make it”?

I hate my greedy company and feel trapped. I am severely underpaid (53k yr) - but thankful to work remote. I do a ton of excel, vlookup, data sorting, PIM management, SQL queries and daily product updates/pricing management. I’m a very fast learner and in my current position I’ve hit the peak. I need advice on what to learn or where to look for better opportunities. I do love my boss and my team and have no issues there so that’s why I haven’t rage quit.

Is it unreasonable to ask someone from PT timezone to follow ET hours for 1 month during critical phase of the project? To be specific.. starting 9AM ET.
